  2. Very good game, done excellent performances too.

Migs is back on form. Couple of excellent saves and gone back to basics with his distribution.

    Can without doing the MOTM.

Skrtel had a very good game.

Sakho looked a bit shaky again, have teams realised he doesn't like to be pressured?

    Hendo just did his thing.

Gerrard was frustrating me. Was getting involved but he's so slow to close people down.

Ibe is going to be a cracking player. Pretty sure I previously said he was a better prospect than Sterling. Still a long way to go obviously though.

Marko had a decent first half but disappeared in the second. Problem due to returning from injury.

Coutinho was his usual self; tight control and looking for the killer ball. He's form seems to have speed a touch though.

Sturridge should have had a hat-trick with the chances he had.

Lovren did alright when he came on. He just stick to the basics though #sensible

Lallana didn't have long and just did his leg work really

Balotelli was much better I thought. Not because he scored (sure he tried to mid, his foot was such a weird angle) but because he was a team player for once.

I feared that he wasn't ready for first team football - but he looks so at ease. And he's one of the few playes who can actually strike the ball well!

No concerns about Henderson. Was up for him to be vice captain at the start of the season. Great attitude and work rate.

I think he's respected by his team mates but I don't think he carries any authority.

But you did say Januzaj was a better prospect than Sterling as well so... <whistle>

  10. Better prospect than Sterling IMO (first said this about two years ago). Needs to be given time and still has a lot to learn but I think this lad could be quality.

I don't say that often about young players since the epic fail by Pacheco but Ibe's not just about pace, he has power, vision, two feet and knows how to defend too.

I just don't see Hendo as a nailed on started. He was a bit aimless in the dying moments and sometimes you need a more calming influence.. We'll see.

  12. Already praised him ;)

  13. True but that was more to do with me not rating Sterling at the time. Of you recall, I kept saying Raheem was just another Walcott, Lennon, SWP, etc

Cracking game even though Dowd did his best to ruin it.

Mingolet - 7 looks different keeper. World class save and couple of good punches. Good kick that led to first goal

Can - 9. Superb. Just gets better each game
Skrtel -8 excellent tonight. Best I've seen him play for a while
Sakho- 7 solid enough but does have his 'oh ****' moments

Ibe-8. Looked a threat throughout and has a final ball in him. Good ball to lallana for winner
Gerrard - 5 we should never play him in that position again. Exposed time and time again. Good pen though.
Henderson -6 not his best but suffered because of Gerard's poor performance
Moreno - 7 good going forward and kept covering back. Seems to really be settling in.

Markovic -6 scored but does seem like a headless chicken when running with the ball
Courthino -6 worst game for a while . Out muscled in midfield. But kept trying.

Sturridge- 7 lively first half and unlucky not to score but visibly tired.

    Subs..lovren -6 did ok
Lallana -7 great ball for winner
    mario-8 he scored!

And finally for Fat **** Dowd- 2. 8 bookings in a match that was nothing worse than competitive. Shocking decision and only gave pen cause linesman signalled it.

Henderson's not the same as he was last season. He seems more careful with his passes and often puts them backwards whereas last season he was putting through balls, hitting them over the top and spreading out wide. It's still within him to be a key player for us.

Bit harsh on Lallana there, Gerrez, btw. He did provide the assist for Mario...

    Class is pernament.

Think having a fa cup game helps up. Rest key players heading into a big week.

  18. We should have had a second penalty too if he was going be consistent. Gave a free kick to Spurs for a Gerrard table that got the ball because it was from behind but didn't do the same when Dier went through Sturridge to get the ball.

yes muckyminge is still a crap keeper overall but you have to give props to him for being a professional unlike so many and getting a few things as good as he can do.

Very entertaining game, I predicted us to nick it 3-2 prematch and it always felt like one side would nick it with the odd goal in a high scoring game. Not great defending from either side at times but some great attacking play.

Hopefully United and Southampton mess up tomorrow and throw the 3rd and 4th spots wide open, I think both of us need it with the Europa League getting up and running again now.
