Of all the teams for Balotelli to score his first Liverpool goal against, and for it to be a late winner, it would be Spurs.

I just hope that Dier is ok and that Bentaleb and Mason can sort themselves out ahead of the weekend.

At least he didn't let this lead slip

You know - like he did last season.

Yeah, Pochettino didn't cover himself in glory today odd subs and he didn't address the issues with width that we were having.

Oh well, it's still been a good run for us lately and it's not the end of the World to lose a game. I'd like to see some changes for the Fiorentina game though. Silly long break for us and then a horrid run where the whole squad and Pochettino will have to earn their corn.

I'm not going to get too upset about this result, it could have gone either way. It's better than some of the drubbings we have had the last few times from them. All the goals were really sloppy and could have been avoided.
I would of course love us to get champions league this season but it's not a disaster if we don't. The team that started tonight average age is only 23.5 so there is plenty to be positive about for the future. Provided we can keep our best young players and we can hold onto Lloris I am really optimistic for the future of this team.
Even Lamela, who is so frustrating. There is a player in there and I just hope he can realise his potential with us. You can't fault the effort he puts in thats for sure.

In the last few seasons we've been far too open against Liverpool.

We can't let in 3 goals and expect anything out of it.

At least we scored this time

Pochettino has had a very good run, but he didn’t have a good game today. Taking off eiriksen was mystifying. I think if another team has the tactics to beat our press, and the players to do it, we should go to a Plan B. We have seen a Plan B, and even a Plan C from us, so it wouldn’t be uncharted territory.

But: it was a good game. I’ve never believed we’ll get fourth. Playing good, entertaining football is what I want to see, and it was a good, entertaining game today.

Please let this be the last time we see fat Phil on the pitch. Keep him as 4th official. He might not mess up putting numbers on a board although he will probably still get added time wrong.

Well done for winning but once again the 'Pool fans pipe up when it suits them. The Mouser Watch has been a desolate place since the beginning of the season!

Also HIAG is usually found on the PL board these days.

Great game to watch (probably not for you guys given the result) but end to end attacking, ball on the floor all game unlike Hoofball United <whistle> here's hoping you guys can sneak 4th while we finish 3rd <cheers>

You can have the LC and we'll have the EL as well, everyones a winner apart from United and Arsenal!

Can any of the other Liverpool fans tell me if this is actually one of your regulars?
I'm starting to think it's a little unlikely.

Pool deserved to win as they created more.
We defended badly all night and rose was slaughtered from minute 1.
We gave the ball away cheaply too.
All told we made them work hard but should have held out for a draw.
My only complaint was the ref...and linos
Thought they were both piss poor to both teams.
Rubbish offsides...kane in first half being flagged when at least 2 yards on.
Rubbish penalty decision re kane early on
Rubbish penalty decision re rose given
Rubbish decision re penalty to them not given that should have been
Rubbish offside for our second goal
    Rubbish bookings
And 4 mins added time is a minimum...when a liverpool player stays down for a minute to waste time...and you book a spurs player for trying to get the game going how does the ref blow for time dead on 4 mins?
Like I said imo they deserved to win but **** me can we a proper ref next time we play them?

Once Dowd was appointed as ref, you might as well have tossed a coin.

The Phil Dowd Show is all about the eponymous star. Like Phil Silvers, but with a fat bloke who's not funny

Care to make the same point another time? If you do perhaps don't trash the English language in doing so.

You won the game, get over it <doh>

Probably because Dier got the ball and Sturridge did.... well how can I put it, he did what Sturridge usually does!

In the last 10 mins, results can go either way, and he made it nervous for Liverpool fans against a side who wins plenty of games in last 10 mins.

It was criminal Dowd didn’t give Sturridge a pen for the play when Dier knocked the ball away before touching him, agreed. And it was only fair he didn’t give one when Mignolet tumbled Kane without touching the ball. As I mentioned, our second goal was dodgy two different ways, though, so from what I saw the bad calls resulting in goals evened out. We got a couple of awful other calls, including an offsides on Kane that wasn’t, a goal kick that wasn’t, and a few others. I’m not sure if Liverpool had as many crap other calls go against them, but I don’t think they did.

In any case, credit to Liverpool, who deserved to win today, I thought.
