Understatement of the century. I can't remember a more one sided second half by a side that is at the bottom of the league. Credit to Leicester for their spirited fightback and for not rolling over for us but my God, we made it so easy for them. Poor tackling, sloppy passing, slow tempo to the game and no cohesion whatsoever in midfield. Coquelin had his worst game for us since he's come into the side. I'm glad we got the points, but if Leicester nicked one, or even took all 3, we would not be in a position to say it was undeserved. We move on to the next game but if we put in more performances like that, we will be lucky to finish 7th. The referee had an absolute stinker, but the attention he will inevitably receive from our fanbase will probably be highlighted more than our terrible performance against the division's worst side.
This puts Liverpool three points behind rather than five if it's a draw, would deform rather keep both spurs and pool behind us by as far as possible!
I can deal with a Pool win as there are not getting max points from Soton and City with Yaya back plus Palace away is a tricky fixture too
Wasn't even a good first half. We scored two goals against the run of play. We were kept to minimal chances aside from Walcott's 1 v 1 (which he should have scored) but they looked menacing on the counter and were a threat throughout the match. Mahrez and Schlupp tore us to shreds and Kamaric was a nuisance for the entire game. We still need to stop overcommitting men when we have corners because they nearly scored as a result. We also need to learn to not get too tight to wide man who have the trickery and skill to beat our fullbacks for pace and exploit the gaping holes we leave. But anyway, I don't want to moan too much as we got the result; I just think that after going 2-0 up, we should have tried to control the second half better but we were too languid and invited pressure, with weak challenges and ricochets. Let's just take the 3 points and run!
If it were Chelsea, pundits would be licking Mourinho's arse and saying he can grind out results even when Chelsea don't play well 3 points is 3 points and getting those points is all that counts at the end of the day
