I think we're better than that, but as long as people take us lightly, the better it will be." please log in to view this image Slavisa Jokanovic believes Odion Ighalo is currently one of the best strikers in the Championship after the 25-year-old scored his ninth goal in six league games on Saturday. “He is a professional player who wasn’t in my first plan when he arrived. So it is a good message to my squad that if you work, you get a chance. He is a great example. Current league positions : Bournemouth 29 33 57 2 Derby 29 30 57 3 Middlesbrough 29 27 56 4 Brentford 29 8 52 5 Ipswich 29 17 51 6 Watford 29 24 50 While this game is going on keep half an eye on BournemouthvDerby where points will be lost. No team news as yet, but with both Brentford and Watford winning their last game, do not expect many changes unless injury has struck. Wherever you are in the world Enjoy the Game
It´s a big game really, like they all are. It means more if you can nip points off those around you. This is something we haven´t really done well at recently either... thanks for the thread OFH!
Brentford are due a win against us. The last time they managed it, twice within a month, was when Mike Keen was manager. I hope it is not tonight, though.
Interesting story in the Times this morning. They are reporting that Mark Warburton has been told that he will be dismissed at the end of the season, regardless of whether they secure promotion or not. Apparently: 'the the club's owner, Matthew Benham, has made it clear that he is determined to pursue a new direction' and that 'Warburton discovered last week that Brentford had held talks with Paco Jemez, the Rayo Vallecano coach, about the managers job at Griffin Park'. Bizarre. Hopefully, a bit of uncertainty will help our cause tonight.
Gianni Munari is Watford’s only fresh injury doubt ahead of tonight’s Championship clash with Brentford. The Italian, who played 90 minutes against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, has a foot injury and will be assessed before the game.
Afternoon all from a chilly Bandit Country. We are off on the beer train about 15.30 to hopefully we see us repeat the kind of performance we put out at Fulham.
Munari only stayed on against Blackburn because of his height, he was definitely carrying an injury. We were set up specifically to counter their style and aerial bombardment which is why we won; he was effectively sacrificed for the good of the team. In closing with regard to Blackburn at every opportunity they tried to put Brown 1 on 1 with Hoban and he did very well overall including a Cruyff turn to beat his man when isolated; this boy needs encouragement. As for tonight, we have an advantage in midfield where we have a rested Tozser and maybe Abdi to start alongside Watson or he will come off the bench at the hour mark. Either way, the game plan and set-up against Brentford is completely different to last Saturday so we will be fresh! A draw written all over it but I hope for an emphatic away win
Nice thread OFH, I particularly liked your opening, lets hope the Officials don't claim all of the headlines again.
really? I´ll have a look on the box then, but would be surprised - http://www.entutele.com/programacion/todos/
Sorry Mex, I cannot find anything. It seems that the FL have found a way to stop the games. The only way seems to be if Sky are doing a game live, then it can be picked up.
Watford : Gomes (GK); Paredes, Cathcart, Angella, Anya; Watson, Tozser; Forestieri, Layun, Ighalo; Deeney (c) Subs: Bond (GK), Doyley, Hoban, Ekstrand, Pudil, Abdi, Vydra.
Interesting line-up with an attacking bias and 5 of the subs being defenders. You would have thought he would start with more cover then release the speed off the bench as the game opens up past the hour mark. Difficult to pick the formation out of that with Anya, Paredes, Layun & Forestieri all playing.
Chris, according to the clubs entry on Facebook with the team news, OFH has it right - it looks like we're playing 4-2-3-1.
