Good move really, confirms Macca is fully back in the fold and good for Maguire. We seem to have a bit of a relationship there with Wigan.

I'm a bit surprised by this one, if we're playing three at the back, we could find ourselves short with one or two injuries.

The lad needs football, there's no point in him waiting around on our bench. Macca is back in the frame now and we can always revert to a back 4 if needs must.

I guess we now have Bruce, Macca, Dawson Davies and Figueroa. So we're well covered even if we play 3 at the back.

    Is there no recall?

You can't recall an emergency loan in the first 28 days and as it's only a one month loan, it's not really an option.

He should be put above Davies in the pecking order now but at least we have other options now with Mcshane back and Maguire does need games.Hopefully Chester can get fit ahead of schedule too.

he's above Bruce, that's why he's been loaned out

So the person who decides the pecking order has decided to loan him out because he's ahead of his son in the pecking order.

    Yeah, that makes sense.

I think Phelan has suggested that McShane should be back in the fold.

Immediately back in the starting 11, now a different centre back leaves (temporarily).

Just think Phelan has pointed out his experience and guts.

Well as long as we don't suffer injuries to other centre backs then a good loan for him.

It also means that Figueroa is considered more valuable then Maguire, since the former was just at Wigan and remains at the club.

It doesn't. Maguire is at best 6th choice behind Dawson, Davies, Chester, Bruce, and McShane. Whether we plan to play 2 or 3 of them he's a way off playing, and I wouldn't be surprised if we let Figueroa go out on loan as well if someone asked about him.

Did Wigan play Fig in the middle or at left back when they had him? They could just have different needs now to then. There's also the fact he'd already spent at least 61 days there. It means he can only spend a maximum of 32 more days there this season. If they're after somebody for longer they could be taking Maguire with a view to extending the loan later on if he fits in.

Bruce said in his pre-match interview last night, that Figgy wasn't going anywhere.

Extended his loan until the end of the season.
