Cheers. We don't have a great record at your place, so I think most of us would settle for not losing. Anything else would be a bonus. Depends which Spurs side decides to turn up tonight!...
Hoping for the side that turned up at your place earlier on in the season, but I fear the side that faced Arsenal at the weekend will show up, unfortunately (for us anyway!)
Apologies to Bob Dylans Hurricane but: Here comes the story of the HarryKane, The man the gooners came to blame For puttin' an end to their winning run. Star of the Tottenham team, and one day he’s gonna play for The champions of the world. Eng-er-land Eng-er-land Eng-er-land
Really looking forward to this game and that is a very dangerous position to be in as. Spurs have a habit of not going on a run but if we play with the same kind of determination that we showed against Arsenal and Chelsea, I will enjoy it whatever the result.
Lloris; Walker, Dier, Vertonghen, Rose; Bentaleb, Mason; Lamela, Dembele, Eriksen; Kane. Subs: Vorm, Davies, Fazio, Chadli, Paulinho, Townsend, Soldado. Unchanged, as SC pointed out, but Townsend makes the bench. Replaces Stambouli, I believe.
Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Gerrard, Henderson, Markovic, Coutinho, Ibe, Sturridge. Subs: Ward, Johnson, Lovren, Lambert, Lallana, Allen, Balotelli. Still a fairly dangerous looking side, despite their injuries. Some threat on the bench, too. Who's Ward? Youth keeper, perhaps?
Looking at their midfield I don't see much there to match the intensity of Mason and Bentaleb together. Henderson yes but Gerrard doesn't have the legs to go 90 mins against our youngsters now surely. Liverpool have so many attacking players out there tonight that we will surely get chances. Ibe is a threat so our fullbacks will have to be aware, as is Markovic. Big, big work for Bentaleb and Mason tonight - dealing with those two and Sturridge is a whole different kettle of fish to dealing with the largely paceless (apart from Welbeck) Arsenal starting XI. Them playing lots of inventive attacking players makes them dangerous and we need big performances from our midfielders and defenders but I think we can have them at the back.
Ibe's a dangerous wide player, for those who aren't familiar with him. Had a good start to the season on loan at Derby. Recalled to the main squad in the middle of January and he's fitted in pretty well since, from what I've seen of him.
We need the high energy approach to counteract theirs, it's all about the midfield. Whoever controls that wins in my view.
Normally I'd wish you luck in spades for this one, but I think a draw might be the best result all things considered. Good luck with getting a draw
We look the better side on paper but they're very capable and could beat us. Still I think we're very long odds at 16/5. Bournemouth, Brentford and us to win at 22/1, fill your boots.... well maybe not it is a long shot
Looks like Blue and White gets his wish. We play an unchanged side. It will certainly be a good test our starters. COYS!
