Theres a few trophies you can win with a win % less than 50%. You can also end up with quite a gap in points depending on what results you got in the other 50%.
ha ha my mate just reminded me we have Phil Jones taking corners. 3 at the back, Di Maria or Fellaini up front, Rooney in midfield, our midfielders on the bench, a LB playing at CB... and Phil Jones taking corners. Bloody hell it really is keystone cops The ONLY thing that seems to have come off for LVG is Ashley Young as a wing back. Who would have thunk it lol. UIR one of the biggest similarities with Moyes is he wouldn't let go of his ego and it seems LVG won't either. The difference is that Moyes was a nobody so he lost the dressing room (a very average dressing room). LVG hasn't because of his CV and the fact it's a bloody good dressing room who are saving him at the moment.
Yet there are stats that apparently prove we played well yesterday. This despite my eyes telling me we were utter dross again. I've rarely heard such ****e to be honest. He talks about the Moyes effect. How about the genius of van Gaal turning Di Maria into something akin to a league one player of late? Or is that not his fault either? You'd be taken more seriously if you didn't contradict yourself with every other post. As it is though most of what you say is a joke.
I have no idea why Jones is taking corners. I can only guess that LvG has assessed everyone and that somehow Jones came out on top or those that were better, LvG decided they were of more use in the box. Its ok though, we hardly ever score from corners. Doesnt matter who is taking them
Where has anyone said we played well? I said we were poor. Horrible performance was the way I put it. Thats not up for debate, nor is the fact he makes decisions that make no sense at all. I have given opinions on why he does things but thats purely down to trying to make sense of them rather than some defence of it. Jones on corners, rooney in midfield, herrera on the bench. Mental! I also dont bring up moyes. Rather he was the forgotten memory he deserves but others feel van Gaal must be compared with him at every chance.
You said earlier that you were by far the best team in the second half and could have won it? How can you be "by far the best team" and have a "horrible performance", they are not conducive. I guess everything just rides on these last 14 games.
Look, the reason Moyes is brought up is that you use parameters for van Gaal that you used against Moyes, and vice versa in some cases, so it's being brought up whether you want to or not. New manager, new players, new system. That's just today. van Gaal should be given time yet Moyes shouldn't, that's why it's constantly brought up. You don't apply the same rules to both so it comes across as plain daft at times. Bottom line for me is, I want LVG to succeed but as things are currently going if he fails I'll have no sympathy or patience because he's making a pigs ear of it at the moment. We're in a decent position but the annoying thing is we should really be in a better one. And more secure in achieving top four at the bare minimum.
There's a bit more depth to it though Swarbs. I understand what you mean but it also depends if you're playing first or afterwards. And it's not just those below you, it's those above you. If City had won our result would be immaterial. But city draw and we have the real possibility of closing to 3 points. And it doesn't end there. City's next game is against Stoke away, and ours is at home to Burnley. It puts pressure on them, they're now looking down as well as up. Not only that but imagine we had a chance of being level on points with them by mid-week (unbelievable that was a real possibility) then imagine the psychological advantage over those below us - no longer playing for 3rd or 4th, but simply accepting that only 4th was now up for grabs. As I said there's so much more to certain weekends. And it's these moments that typify the meaning of ambition and what we took advantage of time and again under Fergie.
When VG messed up at the world cup or came in for criticism UIR would have none of it. Typical of Mancs though, once somone linked to Man U they become world class no matter what happens
My money's far more important. #messagetovangaal Btw I don't think we've wasted a penny on any of the players except Falcao. I think we need to ban buying anyone whose name begins with an F.
DI Maria doesnt seem to fit to me, a good player sometimes but with the news of his house being broken into and his family scared and moving to a hotel.....Obv that can happen anywhere but I just get a feeling he wont be with you next season. Not just the attempted break in but I just dont think his heart is in it imo Falcao has been poor so far Blind has rescued you a couple of times and is probably your best signing so far imo Rojo looks a red waiting to happen
Only if someone sets him free by offering him a piece of clothing Blind is getting better with every game but I still believe Herrera is our best signing. He will be quality imo Rojo is a LB that's the problem. We need a big name CB and have Rojo fighting it out with Shaw for the LB position.
Oh yes forgot about Herrera, not seen loads of you tbh just on MOTD and that He isnt getting in the team though is he as already been said
No this theory that his head's not right bcos of the match fixing allegations and trial next month. But then I don't see Gabi, the captain of Athletico Madrid who is also facing the same being phased too much smashing Real Madrid over the weekend lol. It's up to the manager to get his mind off it by getting his mind on the game. Working/training/playing is better than sitting around thinking about it surely. Seen Herrera from Bilbao days and he is suited for the prem imo.
Yeah read about that and maybe his head isnt right but like you say, it should be! Anyway, you're nailed on for 3 points on Wed arent you
