Bearing in mind we play each other very soon, Seb Bassong spent a few months on loan with you boys and seemed to do very well. Since then he's been welcomed back to the Norwich squad and has played an important part in sorting our defence, although he went off early with a back spasm on Saturday, he has been recovering well and could be fit to play against Charlton! How would you feel about facing him in our team and do you think he would have a problem facing Watford? I'm sure he made a few friends there, do you think it would affect his game? I don't care which of us wins the game providing we both get promotion!
He has all the attributes to be an excellent defender but for me he doesn't have the discipline. Too often he is something of a liability, I would still have him back as we are currently very short in that position and Hoban is a constant worry to me this season. If he plays against us I would fancy our strikers to get a mistake out of him at some point, especially as with any luck their knowledge of his game will be improved thanks to his loan spell.
I suggest that virtually every footballer has friends playing for other (and sometimes rival) teams. I don't think having friends at Watford would make the slightest difference to Bassong if he was to play against them. He is a professional and playing for his living after all - probably add a bit of spice for him!
