There's no accounting for what you see in that alternative Universe of yours, however, in the real one he was caught in possession 3 times and nearly cost you.
Did you go to the game? Just wondering as what you're suggesting is what Sky tried to say at half time.
No, they pointed it out at half time. At that point I would agree that they were targeting Sakho. In the second half, it seemed to be Can more though. In both situations, I wouldn't criticise either player though. Everton put both under a lot of pressure and they probably should have just cleared their lines. However, Brod tells our defenders not to do that, we rarely just boot it and that's been the case since Brod arrived.
Martinez has done the same with ours and the opposition have had joy pressurising the split CB's forcing them into either a hoof or a mistake. It was noticeable on Saturday that we held a back 4 most of the times the keeper had the ball, and didn't split the CB's with both fullbacks pushed right on as is our usual tactic.
He looked like he swapped his boots for a set of sheriff's stars, the only player with worse passing accuracy than Barry
So, that form is only as good as the table....it is a snapshot at the end of the last game played..... And it's clear Brod managed to leave that form at home
That's true. I said on your board I expected us to swamp and pressurise your two dm's, but you did it to our wide back three players (am I sounding Brodish? ) better than we did. I say again though that until Sakho is given greater options when on the ball (Moreno in particular offers **** all support) Sakho, for all his decent heading/tackling/defending, is sussed and every team will target him. Can has had twice the support from Markovic and Ibe, neither of whom are mnatural wing-backs by any measure. Moreno. supposedly a fullback, plays more and more as a left-midfielder, if not an out and winger. And his defending and positioning is iffy at best. Mind you, with Enrique the only other option, I can not see Sakho's position getting any better until Luca/Allen and Skrtel get closer when he has the ball, and, of course, Moreno. The option of Lovren taking Sakho's place in a back in a back three fills me with more dread than the odd misplaced pass.
I think most managers prefer their defenders to play the ball out so the team keep possession however, defenders have to be allowed to make the choice on what is the right thing to do at any specific time
You dont sound Rodgersish, thats what we did, identified a weakness and disrupted play. The same was done to Barry and Besic. This made the game a midfield battle and neither had the quality to make any significant impact on the game(plus fear of losing didn't help either side)
It's easy... Lots of liverpool fans laud the form table, even having a little pop at our current run. However the form table is worth noting for the next game you play as shown on Saturday evening. Its a look at back in time when you played well or badly
This was just a game Liverpool fans were disappointed not to win while Everton fans were glad not to lose.
Trust me i was not pleased with a draw, never seen such a negative display from the master of total football Brod
So the way you saw the match was Everton played brilliantly and were sniffled by 1 shot on target Rodgers.
