The best film award surely has to go to The Immiatation Game, followed closely by The Theory of Everything.
2 outstanding British films, beats anything Hollywood has made in the last 12 months.
    What are your predictions?

Been a real let down of a year in film for me. Looking at the list of nominees it's a bunch of also rans from most other years.

Totally agree. Both films were excellent but The Imitation Game just pipped it for me.
Boyhood was good.......brilliant idea and Gone Girl was clever, kept you guessing.
Mr . Turner was ok but with those accents I will never be a huge success.

Never got The Theory Of Everything, people bought into it and hyped it up as some awesome film but in truth, for me it was very boring and constantly seemed like I was watching an Oscar-chaser.

Fair play to Eddie Redmayne for the job he did, but I think the film itself was poor.

Aside from that, Birdman... ffs. What a load of bollocks.

Haven't seen Imitation Game, I've been told several times that that's very good though.

I like that Jack O'Connell got recognised, I think he'll be a great actor over the coming years.

Perhaps if Stephen Hawking had flown off in a rocket powered wheelchair and gunned down a few nazis you would have appreciated it more after seeing your list of action favourites on another thread.
However, not all films are like that and this was an autobiographical tale through the eyes of his wife Jane. It is a fascinating account of a human drama with amazing acting.
I have to agree with you on one thing though.......Birdman??? Absolute sh*te.

Easy, no need to go about filling your nappy because somebody doesn't agree with your opinion.

I don't have any pre-requisites for what would make a film good or bad, especially not rockets and Nazi's, so don't pretend you know me by reading a post I've popped on another thread and assuming you can determine everything about me from that one post/thread.

When you write something less patronising we'll talk, until then, go **** yourself.

I've read enough of your arrogant crap to know you.
It's rich you trying to deny me my opinion when you shoot your mouth off and talk down to people so frequently.

The film you call an oscar chaser cost 15 million to make........who would invest that for somebody to win an oscar?
It hasn't got a battery of the biggest names either and if you want oscars big names help.
It has made over 90 million so far and will go on to earn a lot more so word has got around that it is a great film. If it wasn't it would flop so perhaps the balance to your ignorant comments was necessary and some other members on this board will enjoy a film that you tried to put them off.

Terry's a decent bloke and very well liked on here. Never seen him speak down to anyone on here and he tends to be an open minded poster.

He's generally got very decent taste in films as well so not sure where you've pulled that from mate.

That's more like it, at least be honest instead of waiting for a sly pathetic whimper of a dig.

As you can see from my quote above though, I've not attempted to put anybody off, I just gave my opinion on the film. You've shat a big squiff of **** all down your legs because it doesn't conform to your opinion.

£15m is a drop in the ocean these days for a top film and anyway, what's the cost got to do with anything? The Pianist probably cost more than that over 10 years ago and that reaked of an Oscar chaser and hey presto, it cleaned up.

I'm sure my opinion won't stop anybody from watching it if they want to watch it, I've acknowledged that the lead actor did a good job. Was he up there with Daniel Day Lewis in my left foot? Not a ****ing chance, but he did a good job of playing a disabled person.

If you'd care to elaborate on the 'shoot your mouth off' part? I'm intrigued to see what drivel you serve up.

I didn't say his taste in films was poor , although I did say he'd got wrong about The Theory of Everything .....then he started being insulting.
What I did say was that judging by previous posts he only seems to watch the adrenaline charged action pictures and consequently his opinion of an emotional biography may not be as relevant as the earlier favourable posters.

How can somebody be wrong about a film?

You do realise how ironic your posts are regarding me and my opinions on films don't you?

I absolutely cannot stand Monty Python, I could watch any of their awful films from beginning to end without laughing once, it's really not of any interest to me. That's the only example I need to provide you with to prove that it's you that's wrong.

You are allowed to say TTOE is your favourite movie, that's fine by me, but you're not allowed to deny my opinion, dispute it by all means just don't try and pretend you have some sort of authority over me because I've confessed to liking the odd action movie.

See how it feels to be patronised?
