Good Morning Everyone, Leeds suffered their first league defeat of 2015 at the hands of mighty Brentford. That doesn't sound quite right, does it? Brentford have done the double on us, they beat us at Elland Road. For those of you that have not seen the highlights, here they are :- Roll on the Reading game tomorrow, then its the 6 pointer against Millwall. Surely we need to get four points from these two games? You never know, Morison may score a hattrick against Wall? After Saturdays performance, are there any players you would recall? With such a leaky defence, should we be playing five at the back with Cooper, Bellusci and Bamba. In fact, Bamba could sit infront of Cooper and Bellusci. We know how he likes to get forward. Why don't we get the rub of the green when it comes to penalties? Considering we were at home, you'd think we'd get one of the decisions?
Morning Elland, i can see your logic on playing a back 5, but we shall rob a midfield player doing that, but after saying that, why not, Redfern has tried every other permatation and failed, if we loose the next 2 games i fear the worst.
Players I'd recall Elland, Bianchi....Bellusci....Berardi...Del Fabro....Adryan....Antenucci.....Sloth....Monty.....Duke. Players I'd drop, All of'em, except Cooper, Taylor, Byram and Silvestri. IMO, Redders purposely dropped many of Cellino's signings so he could play his own favourites, his academy boys and his favourites that play badly. He didn't recall Morison, Murphy, Austin, Wooton and Sharp because he thought they would do better, he did it because he wanted most of Cellino's signings out so he could play his Cook, his Mowatt, His Byram, His Austin, His Murphy etc etc etc, then he lived on hope, hope that his favourites would deliver, but they haven't. He dropped Adryan so he could make his favourite boy Cook shine, but he hasn't; even put him in Adryans position, Cook floundered, then put Cook on left, he floundered. He dropped Adryan and Duke saying they need to deliver more in training, lousy excuse, but his favourites haven't delivered either, but he won't go back to Cellino's signings. Redders talks his own players up, even though they play badly, he makes excuses for them by saying they played well and we played well enough to get 3 points after virtually every game, but we don't, or it would be happening. When did we last hear of Redders talking up any of Cellino's signings? He didn't bring in a second because he believed he could deliver, he brought in his best friend and hoped he'd deliver, but he hasn't. Redders has been picking and hoping, picking and hoping, hoping his favourites can justify his getting rid of some of Cellino's signings, but it hasn't happened. He has better players in Bianchi, Adryan and Sloth for midfield, but he doesn't bring'em back, our top goal scorer doesn't get a start because he wants his choices, Morison and Sharp to shine, but they haven't and don't. Redders is the problem, not Cellino.
Anyone else notice that Brentford's key performers on Saturday were Tottenham and Arsenal loanees? We weren't beaten by the 'mighty Brentford', more the future Prem stars. Why on earth do we not go for these kind of loans? Maybe it explains why we are where we are and they are where they are? Ah but at least we have been informed we 'after' Ince in Jan so that's alright. It's the thought that counts when we are playing in league one next year and derby are in the prem!
Morning all Cheers for the highlights, and doing the thread on Saturday ell. We'll have a match thread for tomorrow later on today.
Morning all, too defensive when we are not good enough to keep a clean sheet has been a problem all season, only 6 times have we scored more than one goal. Antenucci isn't prolific but he is okay in front of goal, why we play Morison instead is criminal.
Good morning from a brighthe forieners have not settled well t and sunny Bardsey to Matt and co I beleive the loan window opens today so lets get someone who actually plays in England as clearly the foriegners have not settled well apart from Silvestri who I thought had a very good game on Sat Bamba who will be made captain AntenucciBeluscoli .BIANCI Doukara Adryan can go back for me We need the Bambas of this world to stay and fight in order to stay in this league Why play Sharp as a wideman when he clearly isn't and why did we keep Morison on after half time when he had just missed a sitter Refearn is not the answer to our problems he is the problem Now that Pearson is still at Leicester can we have Knockeart now please
When does this Beliscoli sign for us? Where is he coming from? I can't even find him on wiki! Come on Mike help us out. Anyone else know anything about this one?
Well at least he will bring lots of beautiful girls to the party!Just got to make sure they are old enough!
So on the Austin's penalty shouts... the second one he clearly went down looking for it, however, the one in the first half. That is one of the most clear penalties you will see all season long. How on earth that wasn't given, when you think of all the soft penalties we've had given against us this season. It really is beggars belief. I am absolutely flabbergasted! The defender gives Austin a two hand shove as Austin is running at pace which clearly alters the direction of his run, in the box, so he cannot reach the ball. Nailed on penalty all day long. End of. Then I happened to see the highlights of the Huddersfield game. They got a late penalty over Millwall. Such an innocuous tangle of legs and the striker falls over. A penalty apparently. So So So Soft. Yet given. I know there's no good harping on about what happens. Move on, and all that. But if we had gone in at half time 1-0 up then the second half is a completely different game. Maybe we would could have made more defensive changes to hold onto a lead rather than always be chasing for that goal. I know we are crap, but we don't deserve to be punished to the extend we have been this season when it comes to penalties.
At what point did we chase a goal? That's what ****s me off about Redfearn, we didn't chase the game, just as we don't alter tactics to defend a lead. That's one indicator that he has no place deciding tactics.
I've heard Brentford deserved to win on Saturday as well. But we should still have had at least 1 penalty, if not 2. Anyway, we're going to draw with Reading... 13/09 Drew with Birmingham 16/09 Beat Bournemouth 20/09 Beat Huddersfield 27/09 Lost to Brentford 01/10 Drew with Reading 17/01 Drew Birmingham 20/01 Beat Bournemouth 31/01 Beat Huddersfield 07/02 Lost to Brentford 10/02 v Reading
Point well made. I speak of the tactical savvy minds of knowledge football people, forgot that Redfearn doesnt necessarily fall into that bracket. So how do we get rid of him? Anyone know how to get hold of a decision maker who has a say in the running of the club? I think a lot of us now fear that waiting til the end of the season is too long a wait.
