"Barkley was just benched mate, he's been crap this season and extremely low on ability" Sorry to disagree Astro, and yes, compared to last season he's been poor: but If I could claw back the £45m we spent on Lovren and, to some degree, markovic I'd do it in a heartbeat and see if they'd take it for Barkley (I still would). That said, the money we've wasted this season looks small potatoes when you a) take into account both sides' total budgets, and b) look at Lukaku. Got to admit, compared to last season and his season with WBA he's been ****ing atrocious. I was actually more worried when Naismith got the ball last night.
Even though he's struggled for form this season he's still scored more goals than any of your squad. He's got nothing to prove in terms of his ability, as he's already proved he can score hatfuls at this level, and he'll come good. The fact that we've not been playing to his strengths for most of the season and have been creating little hasn't exactly helped either
My best memory of last night of Gerrard and the Everton fans - after his fre kicked was tipped over the bar in the Gwladys St, the camera followed the ball into the crowd and there was some fat ****e bird dancing like Bez while rhythmically throwing him the uppsies from both hands: a picture of bitter ecstasy. Looked worrying like one of my exes, if truth be told.
The £45m was the value suggested that we spent on Lovren and Markovic, the £60m is the one Everton put on him a while back
Here we go again. Lukaku is good because he's done better than Borini, Lambert and Balotelli #thelevelsetters
True, but we spent £25m on Lallana to play in a seemingly identical position, and Barkley is at least potentially worth double that. But lallana isn't worth £25m (though he's a decent, £15m player, imho), so that ****s that equation* up. * surprisingly, I got a 'U' at maths 'O' level...
Based on last season I would of rathered Lallana. I thought this would be Barkleys breakthrough season and have been really disappointed with how he's turned out.
We did £16m on a player with the same statistics, tbh, on the basis that we couldn't really lose. But we did when Studge got injured and we realised we could have got someone like Berahino for that amount in the summer, or another player of that ilk who actually plays something equating to the MOVEMENT we expect from our forwards.
Who claimed he was world class like? Is this like your claim about Brod saying he made Suarez world class...? (notice you didn't respond when I posted the quote and sound clip to that ) A fairer comparison for Sterling would be Mirrallas, Barkley, McGready, etc since he's not a striker.
I must have imagined him playing as your striker then....... The comparison only works when it suits eh.......
Playing as a striker and being a striker is two different things. You might also find it was you doing the comparing
