Apparently Strathclyde Polis have just launched an investigation into witness statements at "our" Tommy's trial in light of the NoTW hacking scandal. Wouldn't surprise me if the **** gets let out and sues them again.

Sheridan has no chance of being cleared because of Coulson's perjury. It was Sheridan who called Coulson as a witness in an attempt to muddy the waters and confuse the jury. Coulson's evidence had no part in Sheridan's conviction.
wouldnt the problem be that he accused the NoW of conspiring against him and bribing cops and that if found true this (i.e. officers involved in the investigation receiving money) could get him off?
They would have to show that "Scottish" Police Officers took bribes to set up Sheridan. They would also have to show that the Jury were misled, Coulson lied, no doubt, but he never provided any evidence against Sheridan.
