I know we have had the better of you in recent times, but i never feel confident against you lot. \good result for you today and pleased for you that you have found a good homegrown talent in Kane. I dont like many opposition players but have a lot of time for the young lad. Look forward to supporting him as an England player. That said, I hope he has a mare tuesday and we give you a proper hiding.
I am not surprised you'd take a draw. Because you are in front. We need 3 points not only to catch up with you but also with others. In any case, I don't think it will up as a draw. This is best opportunity you'll have for ages as we can't score despite dominating teams.
Must win game this now, after yesterday's disappointing draw. Arsenal will definitely be picking up another 3 against Leicester on Tues, and Spurs next game after us is potentially a tough one against West Ham (but probably not since they are badly on the slide). We need to rack up those 3s if we want Championes League
Yeah it's been an incredible season for him. Normally young players have a bright first couple of games and then struggle for a bit as defenders work them out but he's just got better and better, even some of the best defenders in the league can't seem to work out how to stop him once he gets going. Surely he'll have a lull at somepoint but he really is a shoo-in for the next England squad. We could really do without him being called up when you look at the state of the other 2 strikers we have With Sterling, Henderson, Sturridge, Kane, Walker, Townsend and young players coming through like Ibe, Mason(well, inexperienced more than young) and Onomah our clubs certainly seem to be doing our share of the work to get England back to a team that will entertain us. I know we're above you but we're still in the chasing pack too so I wouldn't take a draw in many against many of the teams we have left this season, or any thinking about it. Wish we were playing our game against City on Tuesday rather than later when they'll probably have sorted themselves out. Shame Southampton won yesterday as if they hadn't there's definitely be less pressure on Tuesday's match but you're right, as it is anything but a win for you guys would be a big setback. Tell you what, we'll let you finish 4th so long as you let us win the Europa, deal?
I was more impressed by Mason than Kane. That could have something to do with me already knowing about Kane though.
Yeah, up until Kane's second I think he was probably man of the match. What a header that was though. wasn't quite as good as Benzema's against you guys* but still fantastic technique. *Honestly not trying to wind you guys up, I just thought it was an incredible header
Sterling too and Barkley if he leaves in the summer and gets to work with a good manager. We'll have to get an England manager that doesn't settle for mediocrity too, mind.
Barkley can't get into the Everton team ahead of Barry so I don't see why it should be any different for England He's the most undeservedly hyped player ever So far this season, Kane has almost doubled the goals and assists of Barkley's entire career
I'd have still had Mason as MOTM. Kane didn't do much other than the two goals. As important as that brace was, you'd not have won without Main IMO
Barkley has done nothing this season to justify anyone saying he's gonna be great though. Think of every great young midfielder in the last for England and they all have shown something during a season to make people think he's a special player. Barkley came on last night and looked like a nothing player. He needs to start more and show his worth or look for a move.
TBF he did play the one very good through ball for Coleman who should have scored but the mighty Migs couldn't be beaten
Ah yeah very true!! But is he not match fit for the reason he's been dropped or is it because he's out of form? They kept talking about him the whole game.
True, although I think Cleverly and Wilshere top him in terms of being overhyped. I still think Barkley has all the goods to become a top player though. If Kane's improvement shows us anything it's that a lot can change for a player in 6 months given the right manager and right team. The whole midfield did very well, in my opinion. Bentaleb and Mason especially but Arsenal never really seemed to compete in midfield in the second half it was all about defending in numbers and hitting on the break which meant that loose balls were hardly contested and easy for our players to get to. Finding space in the box and trying to pick out a player in the box were probably the 2 hardest things for us and Kane found space and worked chances all game, even if he strayed offside for a couple of them. Mason's best contributions were winning the ball back and getting it moving forward quickly, a crucial part of our play but in the final third he was pretty hit and miss. Each to their own though, there was a lot of great performances out there and frankly I'd have scored Paulinho 8 out of 10 for the 5 seconds he was on the pitch the mood I was in yesterday
You think Cleverly is overhyped?! One never seen anyone say he's even half decent, even United fans that thought he was better than Henderson have come to admit he's not all that (but only because he's at Villa)
Mason was everywhere, not just CM. Look at the heat map for his touches, there wasn't a area of the pitch that he didn't touch the ball. Can't say I noticed Bentaleb that much. Spurs are looking really good ATM, young side too.
