Had to spit some beer out when I saw some people trying to defend Traore on here. Seriously?!? I can only assume they weren't watching the game...
I was just watching Clyne set up the passage of play in the 94th minute that won them the game on motd I am not into personal insults if I don't agree with a Post I say so and proud that I don't negatively cherry pick out players as and when I have been consistent I think I have always thought Barton isn't a ball player but always credited him for his effort and running What I think is bollocks is posters who pick a player slag them and what them out and then dream up new players to come in ... That is fickle imo We have good players even I credit Harold for that shame he disn't know how to use them
I rest my case you haven't played football I am guessing Col that is rubbish he was not yards off his man he stopped Clyne I doubt if you even noticed how good Clyne was all game too busy moaning about a player FFS BosingwA left the club years ago how is that relevant ... He won two champions league medals and played some excellent football in a QPR shirt .... Forget that ? No you remember him as a loser which peoe decided to pick on You pick out players each game and slag them off Sorry mate take a long look at the fact of that ... Each match you will pick on a player and you will rip him apart ... This week it's traore and Caulker ... Bit shallow mate Traore under your terms wasn't on the pitch Caulker did a great job before a tired pass led to a goal after 90 mins and you slag him Saints are strong and Slick and 3rd No accident I maybe laughable iyo don't care a bit but imo you are very predictable ... passionate but very predictable To clear other things up Super if you dont understand the concept of off the ball play then mate you have a poor understanding ... Your response that you did well off the ball sums you up mate
I don't think you are a bollock poster I post what I believe I take the Pepsi challenge as and when re football and our club I was fortunate to experience a good level of football in three countries as a player which drives me to comment when I read stuff I don't agree with It's that simple take it or leave it no problem and no offencee meant
We did well in many ways today in making it very difficult for them but we never really looked like winning the game. Should not have risked our defence when it was clear we were not likely to score, actually should not have taken that risk regardless. A hard earned point dropped.
Did you see Blockhead Pearson's carry on at Leicester? He took umbrage with a Palace player accidently knocking him over, grabbed him by the throat, mouthed off into his face while still on top of him and then held onto his arm not letting him back onto the pitch. He then said after the match "I can take care of myself, don't worry about that". The moron thought the player smashed into him on purpose. No wonder he had a row with a fan earlier in the season. The bloke is as thick as a Bull.
I really think Phillips will come good but he needs to stay on the right. When he switched to the left he did nothing. Given a run he will be ok. Adel needs to get closer to the front man. Green made a few schoolboy errors today that he was lucky to get away with. Zarate looked as fit as a butchers dog today, him and Vargas are far better all round footballers than Austin, I have a good feeling about them 2. Adel is trying to get the crowd on his side but is trying to be too clever, his pass into the box was sublime more of that please and a bit less casual on the free kicks. We will stay up by the skin of our teeth, with a win at Leicester. I predict a 0-1 win at Sunderland. Come on U RRRRRRRRR's
Thanks for responding directly to me, DT. I was perplexed by your earlier reply which seemed to be addressing other people. I have played the game too, but perhaps not to the same level as yourself. I respect your views, but often struggle to agree with them. I consider myself in my Sunday league days to have been a better player than Traore. Opinions eh?
It could take a while but I think there is a lot of hope Taarabt won't stop his tricks I hope he doesn't ... It only takes one to settle a game ... Liked the fact when he lost it he tried to win the ball back He was fouled 5 times first half of he can get into danger areas then players will have to foul him
Mate I can guarantee you that you and I wouldn't last a minute against Traore in any match ... We are all legends in our lunch boxes but that is it ... Different times and I know first hand what sacrifices are required to at today ... Watching my mate now on tele v Forest ... I know what he has had to do to make it and it's mind blowing dedication and luck! Unless you give up normal life you rarely make it. I consider myself rubbish when I look back but I did get to see some very different styles
I played once against Steve Sedley when he was finished no one got within yards of him Gerry Ryan was in my Sunday league and again was 50 I reckon and again no one could get near him
I'm absolutely certain that I could never have competed with the likes of Traore in the fitness stakes, but I'm convinced that I was a better footballer than him. I'll never have to prove it though, will I? I was at school with two very good players. One of them, Gary Locke, went on to play for Chelsea and England Under 21-s. He never quite fulfilled his potential, though, due to injuries. The other kid, Webster Johnson, was possibly a better player but gave up football after the games teacher banned him from going to an England schoolboys trial because he had failed to turn up for a school game on the previous Saturday. Sliding doors.
He was outstanding Swords played for the Witch Inn I played Saturday's and then Sunday's back then he would turn out having run his pub all week and was leagues ahead at 50 plus The difference is vast so when I read posters slagging players off its madness imo Traore is a bloody race horse . I played also with Ronnie Kier from Dundee who died on the pitch in our team ( heart attack) hence later the reason I played against Sedley in charity matches I can tell most on here the gulf between pro and what we think we are is not even measurable and the game today is far more technical Our players need respect if we are to make it
Fukk me. I never even knew he played footie. Was always on the hefty side. He was only in his early 50's when he died. Liked the gear apparently. It was his ticker that gave way too.
Glad to see you have really liked this thread kiwi! The morning after, it still feels crap, but have to remember, we were essentially robbed in what was a pretty poor performance. We surely have to get better...keep the faith!
