Not sure if Sanchez will be fit or not for this game. IMO his and Oxo's absence robbed us of true outlets which was a major difference in our counter game today when compared to our counter game vs. City. Feel that some of the guys might be rested as we have FA Cup duty on the weekend and it'll be a good chance for rotation here as Leicester are in dreadful form and have basically no morale.
A must 3 points really and there should be no excuses for not winning this one. I don't think there's too much need to change the team, but if Sanchez is available, then he should start.
Agree with this. They have both been tearing through defences recently. Players like Cazorla and Ozil are playmakers and passers, but we need runners to penetrate defences.
Agreed. A big win like the one vs. Villa would be nice as its getting to the point where GD might be what decides the order from 3rd to 6th. Games like these we should and must be storming through. Granted I think we'll probably play our natural game and ditch the counter-based system until a more "difficult" fixture approaches.
We played in a similar way against Villa though. I'm not sure what the possession stats were, but all of our goals came on the counter. I think we've learned that possession means nothing unless you convert the chances you make. Arsenal have always (in Wenger time) played brilliant counter attacking football and I think the players we have now (Sanchez, Welbeck, Walcott, Rosicky, Cazorla) all suit this type of play.
Can it just be Tuesday already? Really want to get this Spurs result out of my head. Hopefully a win here coupled with a Spurs/Pool Draw or Spurs Loss, Soton Loss and United Loss would be ace.
Think I've just about gotten over the result today. I really hope we batter Leicester. No saying we will as that would be tempting fate but I am hoping we show them no mercy and romp up our GD. Why would you put Chambers playing as a full back instead of Bellerin, by the way? And if Welbeck is fully fit, I would start him in Rosicky's position and put Rosicky in Ramsey's position. Ramsey can drop to the bench for his poor displays recently. I'd rest Sanchez for the Middlesbrough game as that's our best chance of winning a trophy and we need to progress in the cup. Put Sanchez on the bench for the Leicester game and if we're struggling to break them down by the 65th-70th minute, then use him. Ospina; Bellerin, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs; Coquelin, Rosicky; Welbeck, Giroud, Walcott
Bellerin seemed a bit out of sorts defensively today and I don't want him to get worn out. Dropping Ramsey did cross my mind as well. Shame Jack is injured as I feel competition between those 2 for the CM spot could bring out the best in them. BTW your team has 10 players. Sanchez should defo be on the bench if not fully fit and I'd give him the full 90 in the cup.
Its all good. Its been that kind of day. Today's result still has me bummed out and messing up on stuff.
Leicester have sacked Nigel Worthington tonight so it'll be interesting to see if that'll have any bearing on the game
It's Nigel Pearson you fick **** Anyway, reports tonight are that he's still in position and hasn't been sacked.
I think the pressure is really getting to him. His whole demeanour and body language show how frustrated he seems to be with things not going his way. From telling his own supporters to "**** off and die" to grabbing opposition players by the throat and physically intimidating them. The man is a nutcase and evidently needs anger management lessons.
