The only real negative I can find is that now we know we're unlikely to get anything against Villa as Bruce will stick with this defensive, striker less team that set out to do a particular job (which it managed, all credit due) in a game we need to get on top of and cause some havoc.
We have GAINED a point away against the current Champions of England and one the most expensive teams in history. Regardless of the game it's a fantastic point.
Depends what you mean by context, doesn't it? If we had let in late equaliser against Leicester or Burnley it would feel different to now against a team which cost millions to assemble. We have been dire recently; today we showed spirit, guile and togetherness, the like of which can drag us out of the mess we are in. Stop looking for the negatives and be glad that we showed signs today that we are good enough to be in this league.
A well deserved point to go with our points at The Emirates and Anfield. Huddlestone did what every single player would of done, took one for the team. Sadly some quality from Milner means we only got a point, but let's look to build on this and aim to go undefeated for the next 5 games with a few wins against our relegation rivals!
Its a great looking kit innit. Pleased for Meyler gives it his all every game and gets called to ****
And the difference, in case some missed it, was that Davies was dropped and Macca and Bruce were drafted in. Yes Macca and Bruce made the difference, and I'm assuming that Mike Phelan had some input with that rejigging of our, previously terrible, defence.
I was just looking at that thinking the same. Great effort today, even with the late goal, more than happy with 1 point there, how the fook they didnt bang in more in the 2nd half is amazing. Seems they lack an end product. Milner gets some **** too, he looked their most lively player and that really was a free kick of the season type goal he scored.
