Normally you'd contact a removal man if you wanted some deadwood removing, Alex Ferguson has got Steve Bruce working as his lackey though. First Brown, now O'Shea, Fergie will have him hoovering out the trophy room and serving tea and prawn sandwiches next. I thought he was supposed to be our agent, if he's defected to Man Utd the **** will hit the fan. <grr>

Post a pic of James Perch and Sol Campbell on the internet wearing a manure shirt, put them in Man Us squad on wikipedia, and Agent Bruce might come calling

As long as they don't start cremating with them, imagine if that cloud merged with Boro's. <yikes>

Relax AbGlo! part of the mission is to follow mistakes from past toon managers.
He was ordered to make one Nicky Butt esque swoop on Man Utd. A
s DJ Brucie takes his agent status seriously he was determined to make 3 Nicky Butt esque swoops on his old team.

As Meat Loaf used to say... two out of three aint bad!
    Mission 13 complete ;)

Makes a change from the TOON stuffing ex-ManU deadbeats with millions.................

Also, just how unambitious of the scum to stuff the team with rejects.............clearly shows a lack of judgement.

I wouldn't write off every player who loses their spot at Man U, not good enough for them can still be better than what a lot of clubs have...after all we have a certain RB who was considered "not good enough" by them... That said, buying 30 year olds is a short-term solution

Sunderlands business poor for me so far. Brown, O Shea, Gibson. Man U rejects who are either past their best, or in the cases of Gibson and O Shea, have never been that good. Brown may still have something to offer but he picks up loads of injuries. Larrsson, Gardner - Very average midfielders who lack modern day athleticism. Both relegated last year. Vaughan - Average again but probably signed as cover. Wickham - Good signing. Over priced of course because he's English but still has loads of potential. Dong - Who knows. Westwood - Good cover. Plenty of bodies coming in but a distinct lack of quality and progression in the signings with the exception of Wickham.

Funny how mags always point out that Larssen and Gardner were relegated last year and not

    (a) that they won a big shiny silver thing and

    (b) NUFC retain the services of players who were relegated two years back.

    Selective memory...

Larsson, Gardner, and Wickham I think are good buys, although they wouldnt necessarily be first team. I wouldnt be happy if we had gone for Wes Brown though

Dont know why some of them say that when we've also signed Ba who believe it or not was relegated with West Ham <doh>
I would have took Gardner but I was over the moon we didn't get Larsson in Jan!

Some you win on, others don't work out.

Beatski, I'm not keen on Brown personally, but think O'Shea's a good bet.

p.s. cheers to the mag who posted this on my rep (anonymously, obviously): "Eat **** and die, Mackem scum. **** you." If you can say it, you can put your name to it. Don't care about the words, but the cowardly way you go about saying them makes me puke.

Your signings have been shocking so far. I'd much rather be in our position than yours. I was on your board a few months ago and a lot of you wanted Ba, Cabaye is probably the best player either club have signed. I've been a little disgruntled with our lack of expenditure so far, but at least we haven't wasted money on dross. Brown and O'Shea would've been decent signings six years ago, Larsson is nothing special but a decent squad player on a free, and my opinion of Wickham hasn't changed, average and overpriced.

It all depends what part of the team wasn't functioning that made them go down. For instance Ba was still scoring in spite of West Hams demise. I'll happily step aside from others on here who have lauded his signing. He has it all to prove for me. He is injury prone and 12 or so games doesn't make you a world beater for me. I think if Ba is back up then fair enough but he's looking first choice right now.

Just being honest about Sunderlands business Sid. Birmingham were turd. of course it's nice to win something and they desevre credit for that but the reality is the players they had were found wanting at PL level. Larrsson is tidy but nothing special. Gardner I just can't see it with this lad. He's a grafter but you already have Cattermole for that role. Obviously Riverios was meant to come in and fill the ball playing role but didn't adapt. Why then plonk a plodder like Gardner alongside Cattermole. There will be a lack of guile in that midfield. I just think Birmingham were particularly weak in midfield and these two were two of the 4 midfielders.
