Bloody 'ell - why are some of you ****ers quibbling about 1/2 degree longitude or 1/2 degree latitude. Enjoy the music. Learn summat, but don't detract from the craft. Dislike the band by all means, but anyone know any bands from Manchester New Hampshire ? Macclesfield - where's that ? You don't this this major influence on British music played in Manchester ?
I don't know what connection Clapton has to Manc land apart from he's played there. So if you're putting him then I'm going with The Beautiful South!
Brucie old chap - not Clapton...it's John Mayall...hence the Macclesfield...unless you're takin the piss...I'll accept that.
Easily done....the following article - if you skip down it, shows Mayall's influence if you didn't know already. It's a 2005 article - saw him in 2010 in Toronto 45 years after first seeing him back home. He's still ot there... http://www.toledoblade.com/Music-Th...-on-both-British-blues-and-American-rock.html
