With all this pressure for the Premier League to cap away fans admission prices at £20, and the fact that all PL Clubs are currently given £200000 a season each to help with the cost of away travel, I was wondering what has our Club done this season to help our away fans? I remember last season when our Club really helped out with the cost of away travel. Then City offered free coach travel to a fair few away games, including Arsenal, Spurs, Southampton and Swansea. This season, apart from reduced travel to Arsenal, I can't remember City offering any help at all to away fans. Aren't City supposed to legally offer some help towards away tickets/travel? Is the help being delayed until later in the season? Or are The Allams deliberately withholding the help because of their bitterness towards large sections of our support?
I think this is your shortest post to date, and the first one I have read in full. I was starting to wonder whether you really are a real hull city fan or not.
Apparently we've spent some of it already, I asked what on, but didn't get an answer(travel to Arsenal is the only thing I can possibly think of). I believe we're reducing ticket prices for some of the remaining away's, we're supposed to find out at the next fan meeting.
What a waste of good money that was. Is there a local flag manufacturer going by the name of Allam flags by any chance?
It's also worth pointing out the 6 games that had free travel (Everton, Swansea, Southampton, Tottenham and Arsenal twice) last season caused the club to overspend the £200k (or so they said at the time). So far there's been a reduction of Arsenal travel this season but I think that's it? (Stoke and Liverpool seemed cheaper too).
Oh no I'm not defending them.. I'm just saying we probably won't see the money spent to the extent it was last season (I.e 6 games with free travel).
If they're granted a certain amount to spend on away games, surely they have to spend it on away games?
Completely agree. I doubt (and hope) those flags weren't bought with that money. They should target Swansea and Southampton as free travel - especially as it's during the Easter holidays so they will be able to get plenty of kids going too for mega away followings.
It wouldn't surprise me if they had used it to get more away fans at the KC. Is there anything that says they have to spend it? Could they just say **** them and let the money stay unclaimed in the central pot?
