Who are they? Hope Huddlestone and Davies don't play v Man City and would like to see youth players given a chance in an unwinnable fixture but it wont happen. it's a tragedy that Snodgrass got injured and we have to rely on a player like Ramirez for creativity as he is slow and contributes nothing outside of dead balls

Harsh, I think he's excellent. If he can get a run of games he could be a real player for us, I think he has bags of ability.

Don't know what people are talking about here, saying we are rushing players back. Are we not in a relegation battle?? Was Newcastle a team Bruce should rightfully identify as a good chance to pick up points given they had not won for 5 games prior??

We did OK for injuries last season, this season not, it's just bad luck. There is nothing that Steve Bruce has done to make injuries more likely otherwise it would have affected us similarly last season.

Jelavic has had a meniscus. I've had 3. Even though you feel fine quickly thanks to the technology of arthroscopy they tend to react to the surgery a long time afterwards because there is more friction and therefore more inflammation, swelling and pain. It's treatable with brufen but sometimes it just needs a rest. Would people prefer Jelavic not play at all so that he can be nice and ready to start our campaign next season in the Championship???

As for Bruce mismanaging the injuries; seriously?? Is he a qualified physiotherapist now or an Orthopaedic surgeon? People don't half come out with some utter shyte. Steve Bruce will act under the medical advisement of the specialists, as to how injuries are treated.

I'm pretty sure that's not true. He actually stated at one point that they were separate unrelated injuries, the latter the result of standing awkwardly on a ball in training.

In those quotes on this thread Bruce mentions him feeling his knee after surgery. But he didn't have surgery this time did he? Is he talking about the operation he had back in October?!

I agree with that. But i just dont think he shoulda kept Jelavic on for the full game against Newcastle. No need for it. He's vitally important to us and it wasnt good management of a key player.

For a couple of months now, Steve Bruce has been in the Dugout of Despair, his every option has disappeared as quickly as it became the choice of Hobson. For me it has been less about the players he might have been obliged to play, as I can understand that, but more about how and where he played them; sometimes I haven't understood that at all. Tomorrow is an exercise in hope and application, the team need to adopt a defensive style and drill it home, if they can do that then who knows what might happen, as it's not just Sunderland who can be granted miracles and they got two of the buggers.

No need to play Jelavic at all. In fact i hope that a few are kept back for tuesday.

Give Ramierez - Brady and Quinn a start and i hope that Macca starts but i wont be holding my breath for it.

All the pressure is on Manchester City.

Dont forget your hard helmets. Part of the ground(away area) is a building site.

N'Doye has sorted his paperwork and has his visa, I suspect it's too late to be considered for tomorrow though...

Is he a player for a relegation scrap though? Trouble is he has to play unless they try and use Brady for some creativity
