This Moderator Thing, my thoughts

I see a number of you have put my name forward to be moderator on this site and could I thank you for that, I take it as a compliment and honour.

I certainly don’t have a problem with it but think its best to give you an idea about my thoughts fist, you may not agree with them.

I, like all of you I suspect, found the 606 site ridiculous and heavy handed. That said I find the SMB site brings out some idiots who just want to fight the world. I don’t want to see this new home of ours to be a PC haven and I think with the ignore button and our own common sense we will self regulate ourselves. We are grown up in the main and all entitled to our opinion, just because you don’t agree with it does not make it wrong.

I think the only things that I find unacceptable are blatant threats of violence, the you are a cyber hard man comments we all use and I am in the Wheatsheaf before every game if you want to find me are fine with me. What I find unacceptable is meet me at 7 outside the Wheatsheaf and I will kick your head in, I don’t come on message boards for that.

The only other thing, of the top of my head, that I would not like to see, is blatant porn, not against porn but just don’t want to offend anyone who is. Time and place thing if you follow my drift.

It may even help if we had our own house rules but I do think common sense in most things will see us through.

They are my quick thoughts so if you want me fine, if not I promise I won’t be offended.

Guys for access at work there is the option to disable pictures and signatures in your settings.
Mick the admin said he was going to add a clicky up top to do just that.

Like I said on there and you have confirmed it in your eloquent post, personal threats of actual violence,racism, and releasing personal information are the big no no's for me.
