Gervais was meant to annoy us,that was the whole idea really. He made you cringe, and feel uncomfortable. Very clever...

funnily enough the US version of Being Human was far superior to UK original
the US version seemed to have more cohesion; the UK one's story line was disjointed - it's like they had too many ideas for the show and tried to fit all the ideas in.

You do know the script for the first US show is literally the one written by Gervais and Merchant and they were executive producers on the US version? So if you like that one it's a bit weird to say he isnt funny.

I'm sure he can write a joke it's him that's the problem. I don't know anyone who thinks he is funny or thought your version of the show was better. It was something people used to talk about.

There was better acting in the UK version you have to agree with that. Although I stopped watching it after the original actors left the show, it might have sucked after that happened.

Young people don't seem to able to grasp what made The Office so good. Older people living in Amerrica don't, either.

You mean the man who came up with the idea and wrote it? And the Americans found it so good they did their own version.

I'm a huge fan of Brass Eye and pretty much everything Chris Morris has ever done but it's not as rounded as The Office. I imagine the latter appeals so widely cos it had everything - drama, comedy, a love story, is thought provoking, wonderful acting.

We just aren't on speaking terms right now.

We copied your show Shameless but I don't like it and have never seen your version to compare. I can't think of any other shows that were direct copies.

The Office was, and remains, wonderful. One of the very finest ever.

People who don't like it tend to criticise it as if if was an actual documentary. That is another reason why it was so great.

The American version was an American sitcom style show - so ****. It's always surprised me that the show attracted American interest in the first place as it was the kind of comedy that would sail over the heads of most of them.

And a lot of Brits in seems.

Brass Eye is my fave ever though.

    This!

I think it must be a certain sense of humour, it's absolutely genius. The training day episode is one of the best episodes of comedy you will ever see, the idea to film it like a documentary is so great. The people who say it's **** genuinely just don't understand the humour.

It's difficult to forget how brilliant it is when you've worked in an office where quotes off The Office are used daily.
