This lad looks like a real powerhouse, our very own Yaya Toure......Have a feeling he'll be a massive talent in the years to come. If only we could buy a decent CB and free him from that role!!

He looks comfortable in any midfield position. Where do you all see him playing in the future, surely he'd be wasted as a CB??

  2. I don't think he can play in a CB pairing so his time at CB is limited as we won't play with three at the back forever. I think he and Hendo could form a great understanding in the middle. Both are willing to run through brick walls for the team, both can pass, create, tackle, harass, etc.

    Ya Ya Toure? <laugh>

Come on mate ffs, running at a 10 man knackered Bolton side after having had a cigar on at CB for 70 mins is hardly a yardstick for the lad's prowess at CM

  4. Linking him with Yaya is a bit silly I agree but I also know KKK isn't saying it just on the back of last nights game either. Can as made a lot of runs through several players this season, each time at pace in a similar way to Toure.

I should have worded it a bit more clearly......forgot you were about!! <laugh>

I meant that, in my opinion, he has the potential to be every bit as good. I've been that impressed by him. That doesn't mean to say that he will <ok>

    High praise indeed.

I've not seen enough of the lad in CM to give a considered opinion really, time will tell <ok>

Remember, it's only my opinion based on what i've seen. I can be very wrong. I thought Barkley would be top drawer <laugh>

Can has played in several positions at Leverkusen and looks comfortable for a young player.
He's only going to get better. Where will his best position be? Partly depends on how we sort our CB's for the next few seasons.
Beautiful ball for Sterling changed the game last night.

Mr £50million hahaha. He's worth £10million now at best. No one can even be bothered to bid for him!

Surely that means his #marketvalue is lower than Lambert who got a £5m bid

Quality young player - hard to believe he is only 21.

And it was good seeing him play in an advanced position for a change - being solid at the back made me forget his ability as a midfielder!

Agree with Gez that I can't see him in a back 2 but as a sweeper/centre of a back 3 - he's perfect. However, he needs to be playing in midfield asap but we can't until we sign some quality defenders!

Also, he looks like a real leader on the pitch. Both he and Sakho are emerging as big characters for this team.

  15. On the leader note, Sakho showed some leadership qualities last night. I saw him shouting at others a couple of times. Good to see <ok>

Yeah noticed that also - can sense he now feels he's the leader of the defence as opposed to being Skrtel's junior.

Sahko is growing massively since he got back into the team. Still very young and has to cut out the odd stupid mistake but am glad to see he's finally being utilised.....I'm still at a loss as to why he wasn't much, much earlier.

Some of Can's passes last night were great. He plays with his head up, spots movement and plays the perfect ball. He athleticism and strength are also brilliant. Its not often you see a player who is nimble on the ball and combative like Can. We have a real gem here.

I still feel he needs a bit more refining and cutting edge. But only games will give him that.

In a back 3 I like the way he brings the ball out of defense. But I doubt it would work so well in a back 4.

Both are still young. Although one is currently infinitely better than the other!!
