...... if you like a bet.

I did well out of Pulis this season and stuck a lump on Sherwood as soon as Redknapp limped off.

Unless Bruce can calm things down & sort things out quickly I think he'll be sacked again.

At a time when Hull seem to need some PL experience, bringing in, he's buying yet another 'foreign hopeful'.
The midfield & defence is a shambles but he does his usual and brings in another striker.

By the look of recent photos he should put his feet up before he shuffles off to that big Greggs in the sky.

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/hull-eye-neil-lennon-new-5106781

"Steve Bruce is battling to save his job at Hull, with Neil Lennon among the replacements being eyed by the Tigers.
Boss Bruce, whose team travel to champions Manchester City this weekend, has won just four of his 23 Premier League matches so far this season.

His team sit 18th in the table.

Their latest defeat, a 3-0 demolition at home to Newcastle was their 10th in 14 League games."

We have but Hull have already lost 12 to our 8 and with a poor run in ahead, Man City away next.

Bruce has also performed very badly in the last calender year, relegation form tbh and no signs of a change.

They've stopped scoring and look like they've stopped trying if the Newcastle game was any indication.

The way Huddlestone & Livermore watched that third goal go in was criminal, I'd be seething if it was us.

He has, but that's all rather predictable. He's a bit like the seasons. Starts like Spring, full of fresh hope, followed by a Summer-like purple patch. Then the Autumnal doubts set in as form heads South preceding the Winter chills which are now descending on Humberside. Seen it all before...

Sad but true, I had high hopes for Bruce with us but, as you say, history is repeating.

Looking at their fixtures, there's no way he'll get fired after the City game, no matter what happens there they'll be expecting a defeat.

Then they have Villa and QPR at home, lose to Villa and I reckon he'll be in deep(er) trouble.

Chelsea up next for Villa and the same applies there to Lambert, but a loss to Hull and/or Leicester could seal his fate.

I think it's a straight toss between the two on paper although Lerner at Villa seems to be completely bored by it all so if I had to choose one, I agree with you Smug and say Bruce is a better bet currently.

I'd be very surprised if they're both still employed come the end of Feb.

If he loses the home games against Villa and QPR, then he'll be in bother, particularly if we're as appalling as we were against Newcastle.

Though this Lennon story is complete bollocks.

Kind of agree with that Terry - but how many times have we seen bosses fired after playing one of the big boys - I've seen it happen to us after we played you lot when you were just about all conquering! Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea! A number of big clubs win a game against a team then the opposition has their manager replaced

I bet Allan al Snackbar has got an itchy trigger finger right now, a Villa defeat will see Bruce chucked his P45 I reckon, if Allan has plans to stay in this league that is.

He could be looking to **** it off all together mind, after such high expectations and poor delivery this season, you could forgive the guy for bailing on the job altogether.

I can't see anybody wanting to work with our mad owner. All the off field problems are his doing, and they're mind boggling why he brings them up.

For a new manager they'd obviously want him to tone his interviews down, so they could get on with keeping us up.

In that respect Bruce has done a decent job.

I'd have wanted to throttle him.

The Lennon story is a non starter... he's doing well at Bolton & is relatively new there.

Good point, no point firing somebody if you're gonna replace them with nobody/somebody worse.

Phelan should get it right on the pitch providing you've got the players to knuckle down and put a shift in.

I'd start by taking Huddlestone and Livermore out of the side and making them clean the bogs, humiliate them like they humiliated you lot last weekend.

I think Lennon would be a great appointment for Hull, a lot of folk don't rate him, but I do, I think he will do well in the Prem at some point.

Doubt it will be at Hull mind, as Terry says I think Phelan will steady the ship and they'll stay up, I think it would be smart to move Bruce out in summer thiugh he's once again hit his ceiling.

I'd be going for McLaren, if Gus went he'd be my only candidate. McLaren improves players and builds proper teams, gets everyone pulling together.

What is it with Bruce and this 'ceiling'.

It's as if he has a massive clusterfuck when he's given an objective other than survival. He pushed on that team on paper, to look like a solid attacking unit but it just hasn't worked. Does he struggle to play attacking football? Being a hardened centre half does he only know how to set up a defensive team?

Something tells me he'd do a grand job if he set up a team like Stoke under Pulis.

I always feel he gets a team of solid pro's, gets them pulling together then goes too far trying to add sparkle.

Then, his big downfall, he handles the big stars he gets with kid gloves and lets them take the piss, it happened here with Gyan the most notable, this in turn alienates those same 'great pros' that got him so far.

He then panics, goes defensive, and lacks any basic plan B when it goes to ****. Phelan might be a genius appointment, a great football man to have around.

Bruce needs some help one way or another.

Phelan ain't a miracle worker but he commands respect, the likes of Gaston will be fished out right away by Phelan, if he's not grafting he'll be sent packing or at least separated from the group.

Bruce will be happy to lap up the credit no doubt, if Phelan does the trick.

Great managers have great number 2's and coaches mate, the manager takes the limelight but the backroom team are vital.

Gaston is a a prime one mate, what a ****ing footballer he is, he was incredible in Italy and has some ridiculous ability. Back to the 'kid gloves' part, he thinks he's better than Hull, and that's when a gaffer needs to be strong, 'shape up or **** off lad'. Hasn't happened.

They've got on paper a very decent side, reasonably strong everywhere, but they are still woeful, that's the manager, plain, simple.

Usual Bruce trick of ignoring problem areas and over filling in strong areas, why did they sign Ben Arfa & Gaston when they needed a GK?

It's like he's playing FIFA and he wants as many players as poss with 5 star skill moves, the reality is that just gets you pumped, and when you are losing these players go missing.

Asamoah Gyan might have provided the answer to your question, Terry, when he was at Sunderland. If you remember, England played Ghana at Wembley that Spring, and the Ghanaian press asked him if he was enjoying life at Sunderland. He replied : "It's a bit disorganized and I'm not too happy there."

    He was a character.

Brucey seems to be great at getting the party started, but has very little momentum... he should go into wedding planning or something, keep things short and sweet.

I think you are all missing the point.

None of the negative things are his fault - he is only responsible for the good things <sorry>
