As fr jack being caught with it, it doesn't make a bloody bit of difference. He is injured and the odd light smoke isn't going to effect him. He's just about young enough not to worry as long as it is genuinely only the odd smoke.

It's a habit he should be looking to kick if he wants to prolong his career but I. Not gonna come down hard on him for having a bit of shisha in a bar with some fit birds!

Lots of players smoke I'm guessing, but they haven't been caught doing it. According to Roy keane, barthez and blanc used to smoke in the toilets at half time

If he is not careful he will have to continue is career somewhere else. This doesn't help the fact that he's not really progressed, we are getting to a point where players like him are disposable. Just saying. I really hope he gets his **** together on the pitch.

When you're a professional athlete it doesn't matter if you're injured and out, you don't have to be playing to maintain fitness, I mean common it's basic 101 that it's what you do OUTSIDE the pitch that keeps you fit and healthy. How do you think someone like Rosicky or Giggs managed to maintain their high levels despite being in their mid 30's and late 30's incase of Giggs? It wasn't about playing time or being fit, it's about constantly looking after themselves when they're off the pitch and off the training ground.

As the saying goes, training is easy, it's maintaining a healthy and proper lifestyle that's hard. ;-).

If Wilshere wasn't injured but was in the team and playing well nobody would give two ****s about him smoking.

It won't effect his performance because he has been **** for a while now. He should thank his passport that he hasnt been sold to a mid-table club yet.

Erm well that's the thing, he hasn't been playing well for us, and we keep seeing things like this, that's the bloody point!

Exactly. That's what is worrying for me. He has stagnated for a while and this kind of stuff sends alarm bells ringing. Like I said if he carries on he will decline and let go.

Are you saying that having a crafty *** is affecting his performance as a footballer ?

No, the point is, is that on the field he isn't doing well, and your private life is your private life, but with the way things work these days, for many fans seeing Wilshere do average on the pitch and then seeing things like this doesn't go well.

Who cares if he has a few smokes. Unfortunately we live in a world where trivial things are constantly brought up and more important things are buried away. Let the man get fit this season and come back and see what he does next season. He is still young and has had constant niggling injuries that has hampered his progress. If Ramsey can come back and be one of our main midfielders, then there is no reason why Wilshere can't make it too. Only thing that will stop him is injury in my opinion. He will get chances as Rosicky, Arteta and Cazorla to a lesser degree, have a few years left.

Sell to him to city. The fact he's English means 30+ mil would be a fair sale. With this current squad, there's no way he's going to break into the first 11. He's had so many opportunities to pull a "Ramsey" but he hasn't taken it to the next sale.

We have enough strength and depth to allow Wilshere to recover and develop further with us. When have we suddenly become a club selling our young talented players?

Lol. But seriously, I just don't like Wilshere's overall attitude. I'm not just referring to his smoking "scandals" (which I think is a minor issue). To me, he doesn't fit Arsenal. I see him more as a Chelsea player. He's one of the few Arsenal players I've ever disliked whilst playing for us.

But attitude aside, he's really not as good as he thinks he is. The English media has hyped him because he's one of the few English players with technical ability. It's not hard to stand out in that department. I know he's young and people will say he has potential but realistically, where is he going to fit into our midfield?

If we do stop selling our star players can you realistically see him breaking into the XI? Especially years from now? Once Carzola leaves/retires, Özil will more than likely move into the Middle and Dan Crowley looks like the more credible successor.

There's no way he is going to replace Ramsey and he's shown already he's not a DMF.

Pep said it best, he's a good player but there are plenty like him in the Barcelona B team.

Tells you all you need to know.

I understand what you're saying and being English does help you. But one of the main issues for Wilshere for the past year or two has been his niggling injuries. It would be good to see what he can do when properly injury free. He is a player that relies on his physical attributes. Contrast that with Ramsey who is more efficient in his movements, Wilshere has an all action style.

Wilshere needs to change his style of play imo. He's not as skillfull as Santi or David Silva to drilling hugging the ball like he like to do. He brings a lot of his injuries on himself. For me he should channel hi game to Paul Scholes. Just like how he played for England in the last 2 or 3 games. He needs to stay deep and keep it simple. Keep the play ticking along.
