Truly mental what's going on there. Each week you kind of expect them to start winning but after 19 games and no sign of it, it doesnt look like it's going to happen: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31084496 I'll say it now, I'll be lumping on large for them to knock Juve out of the UCL. The pressure will be off, there will be no expectation and they can just play without any weight on their shoulders. In the league they're frightened to express themselves and look beat when they set foot on the pitch but this will all be lifted for the UCL games. It would be possibly the best sports story ever if they won it outright the same season they are relegated.
Doesn't really matter because Atletico Madrid have become the hipsters choice of club now. Dortmund were so 2013.
Weidenfeller Großkreutz (Subotic - 60' ) Papastathopoulos Hummels Schmelzer Gündogan Sahin Aubameyang Reus (Mkhitaryan - 72' ) Kampl (Kagawa - 72' Immobile I look at that team and I can't get my head around it, they might not be world beaters but they're a strong side, surely they're gonna turn it around sooner or later.
They have no chance v Juve, Juve have several players who can win that tie by themselves in either leg and will be more up to speed with Serie A coming back a few weeks before the Bundesliga.
Well we'll see wont we. For me this game will be nothing to do with ability or being 'up to speed', it'll be all about pressure. Borussia Dortmund will have it all removed from their shoulders and will plkay like a revitalised team and Juve will have it all lumped on them . They've basically already won Serie A and have all their eggs in the UCL basket.
Dortmund are nothing with Goetze and Lewand One thing in your favour is that you should get decent odds on Dortmund but without the likes of Lewandowski and Goetze they are a limp biscuit, Sahin and Kagawa have not fulfilled their potential and I can't see these two players in particular stepping up against Juve.
Does this story remind anyone of an English team! http://www1.skysports.com/football/...chlands-uli-k246hler-does-his-best-to-explain
I'm sorry mate but i dont think its anything like us. We finished 16th last year we're 19th now, a few wins and we stay up, hardly a comparison to them.
I mean the fact that we should be doing better than we are with the players we have, just like them. Yes not a direct comparison I admit, but still strange on both counts IMO.
It is getting beyond ridiculous how badly they are doing with the talent on hand, for sure. I will be amazed, even if they won every game from now onwards, if Reus, Hummels et al remained for next season.
I'd say Dortmund's fall from grace is a lot like Leeds' when they got relegated. A comparison to us is silly. Dortmund were 2nd last season; we were 16th FFS.
I have identified their problem, if they rectify it, I am sure their fortunes will change. They are too immobile up front.
The last match they couldn't beat a team down to ten men for the last 20 mins. Reus being injured most of the season hasn't helped them
