The sky sports headline have twisted what he said as well. Claiming 'Coutinho a new Suarez'. Well that's not quite what he said was it <doh>

everyone knows own not to take much notice of Rodgersboosts match comments as he always overplays thinks. Better that than underplay it for morale of the team though.

Tobes, don't agree that Coutinho was shackled. All in the first half he got free and just couldn't find the right pass or get an accurate shot away. Can think of 2 efforts he had when he was in space o edge of the box plus the time he jinxed past 2 players and got tackled just inside the box, neither time danns was anywhere near him.

No, he didn't say he was the new Suarez and clarified that this morning, but he did intimate that he was in the process of making him Wuurrld class <laugh>

As for Danns, Lennon moved him to man mark Coutinho late in the first half and until the sending off I can't remember him doing much in the 2nd?

Suarez did improve when Rodgers came in. His style did get the most out of him. Coutinho is improving and gaining consistency. #luckonceagain

  8. Again, I don't believe Brod was suggesting he was making Coutinho WC either. He did talk about Coutinho's qualities and added that he has the ability to become world class but needs to add goals but at no point did he claim it would be his methods that would see Coutinho do that.

I can understand why you are suggesting both situations because it could be interpreted that way for both, but he didn't actually say either.

In Jamaica (and most Caribbean countries) they're mad for Guinness. If they aren't a rum drinker you can bet your life on the fact they neck Guinness like water!

Wouldn't totally agree; we did have opportunites before the sending off and it was our finishing that let us down; that was much the case after the sending off as well, we just got to miss more shots. It's possible that even without the sending off, we would at least have got one decent shot off to make it 1-1. I agree that the sending off was a pivotal moment though, and it certainly helped tire them out. We also shouldn't cover up the fact that our finishing, for the most part, was still substandard.

Apparently Roberto Martinez has claimed responsibility for making Samuel Eto'o totally ****.

In the second half of the season, he hope to make the same claim about Ross Barkley <ok>

Watched the highlights online, was the penalty a dive? looked like one, or was there minimal contact? Couldn't tell from the video.

Red card looked well justified, Bolton player looked to foul Couts as a means to stop him.
Deserved to win by the looks of it, Did Bolton have any other chances other than the header and the pen?

There was no contact, it was undoubtedly intentional simulation

He should have been booked let alone not given a penalty

  15. Hard to tell if there was any contact at all on the TV tbh. Wasn't a penalty though. If there was contact it was slight brush to the end of the big toe <laugh>

I was saying last night that I could only imagine the hysteria if Suarez won a penalty like that with us last year, the kids dive wasn't even mentioned.

Not the best of performances but wasn't expecting a big convincing win anyway, expected to scrape through which we did <ok>

With the benefit of slow motion and countless replays at umpteen angles, we can see the contact was minimal. A great bit of skill, touch of clumsiness and some clever simulation led to the penalty. Unfortunately it's part of the game and tbh, we benefit from this just as much as anyone else. Thank god it didn't cost us <ok>

  18. Yeah, I said dive at the time but I was never going to make a massive issue out of it because we've had plenty ourselves over the years. That doesn't mean I like or accept it though, I said numerous times whilst Suarez was with us (and for many others) that he should be getting a retrospective ban for it.

Agree. I think really clear simulation should be a retrospective 3 match ban. I'm talking about Ashley Young type simulation. <laugh>

  20. I'd go harsher than that. If there is clear daylight between the players, ban them for ten games. They'd soon stop then.
