As we have all seen recently our midfield isn't great from getting forward to tracking back. I have an idea to help both. It is evident with Tom Huddlestone in the team we seem to play slow as a team, it seems to affect the players around him, and while he is ok when in possession he isn't bringing anything else to the team. After watching the Arsenal game and a few others that Harry Maguire has featured in, we have all seen that Maguire has the pace to get forward and is quite capable (if not more capable than Huddlestone) of making a challenge.

I think we should play Huddlestone in the next game, however if he isn't quite on his game (as per usual) Maguire should replace him. If it doesn't work, fair enough, but it is very much worth trying, as I think this is one of the most crictical issues at the moment!

So you want to replace an experienced midfielder with a young inexperienced centre half?

I may be wrong, but I read Pantsy as meaning: off the bench

It is Just an Idea but a stupid one

Bruce gets enough stick playing players out of position without dropping an experienced centre midfielder for an inexperienced centre half

So if the games going tits up who's gonna call for maguire to replace thudd? If we're getting beat surely we put an attacker on? I've called for maguire to maybe come on as another striker if we're chasing a game but he'd be made to look stupid against most prem midfielders!

Tell you what, whilst we're at it let's stick Elmo in goal because he's good with his hands in the box.

    ****s sake.

Rio Ferdinand proved that because you're a good defender doesn't mean you're good centre midfielder.

Fergie played him centre midfielder against Blackburn and Robbie Savage dominated him.

Firstly If the game is going tits up, you would Happily stay with Huddlestone, leaving his man galloping throught midfield with no notion of a tackle. and secondly how is Rio Ferdinand anything like Maguire. You need to see the individual in midfield.

I swear most of you just read and think I said we should swap a CB into CM without even thinking of what two players I was talking about. We play Elmohamdy and Robertson as full backs and Aluko up front, how can Maguire in a deep midfield role affect us too much. no Hull fan has seen Maguire play hardly, so we can't know his best position.

I am thinking of playing him in a deeper midfield role with 2 more out & out midfielders in front, something like this:

    Elmo-----------Maguire---------------------Brady
    --------Livermore---------Ramirez---------------

Yeah you're Maguire is nothing Rio Ferdinand.

Rio Ferdinand was England international who'd played in World Cups and won everything at club level. Renowned for being great on the ball and still wasn't great in midfield.

    It's a ridiculous idea.

170 something games at centre back for Sheffield United probably tells you what his best position is.

If Rio couldn't play centre midfield despite being one of the best centre backs in the country what makes you think Maguire could?

It's a ridiculous idea because he is quite clearly a centre back.

what are you talking about!! seriously....Rio has never had the pace of Maguire and when Maguire first started he was a striker, he is one of the best defenders, because thats what he is, Maguire is in the Hull reserves (sub on occassions) I really don't see what your thought process is!!
