The transfer window is buzzing, city have signed a few youngsters and a couple of oldies;) but I feel that is good for experience in the team, and thats what we needed. There are some good sides going to be in this league next season, it will be a great season!
Very interesting at the least, but moaning about signings people, come on...think of some of the loans and signings made last season, Koren, super Matt, Gerrard, Ayala, Rosenior, Stewart, Chester, Mannone Simpson(had a few good games plenty of potential), Evans! Credit to Nig he's done a brilliant job, and already we have signed this season, Dudgeon, Hobbs, Mckenna(i'm looking forward to seeing him play, think he will be like Ash for us) Adebola is getting alot of stick, but lets not judge him before he plays, slagging him off now isnt going to help anybody is it:emoticon-0148-yes:

I love this time of the year, transfer window is brilliant, and start of the season coming soon it's an exciting time, and i believe loan signings are going to come, but i think we've strengthend were we can and when everyone is fit we will have a very good team. Im just worried about Hobbs and Chester playing together two youngsters like thats seems abit risky but we'll have to wait and see. When everyone's fit I see a good team out there for us..

    Galusci(Hahnemann)
    Rosenior Hobbs Chester Dudgeon
    Stewart Mckenna Evans Koren
    Fryatt Simpson

I know Stewart will be out til October, but I think a loan will cover him at the start of the season, Nige isnt daft.

I am excited by the prospect of next season as let’s be honest, a lot of people have very short memories when complaining about the lack/quality of our signings. The second half of last season we were on a top run of form which included an away record. We have only lost Gerrard and Guzan from the lot which did so well at the end of last year. I believe Guzan is very replaceable and Gerrard was a rock at the back last year and I have full confidence that Hobbs can perform this role to the same level with a full preseason of Mr Pearson. With the other additions to the squad you could argue they are improving us man for man which inturn improves the strength and depth of our whole squad, Mckenna will replace Harper and many believe Dudgeon will replace Daws.I can only see our run from the second half of last season carrying on with Fryatt and Simpson scoring plenty of goals, with Adebola coming off the bench giving us a second option.

My only qualm I have about next season is the potential lack of creativity with Stewart out injured and Koren sometimes going missing. I feel a couple more loan signings in the midfield and our promotion push will certainly be on. However I think with the money flying about and strength of squads I see a top 10 finish being a realistic target for next season. I expect Leicester, Birmingham and West Ham to be runaway leaders.

I'd be tempted to switch Evans and Koren, I believe Evans has been playing well on the wing for Northern Ireland and Koren is meant to prefer been in centre

Yeah, I agree about creativity, I think last season we was just missing a spark in the team, something to bring us to life, wether that be a big tackle, or a piece of skill, or even just a burst of pace on the ball, something to give us a lift, which was sometimes stewart but as we mention again, his injury didn't help.

But for me I don't think koren has the time and space he would like in the middle of the park, and I dont think he is strong enough physically and doesnt seem to like a tackle too much.

back 5 will always pick itself if we get a decent GK.

the awkward one is the midfield, were to play Koren... He needs to be in the team like it or not!

i am hugely excited about this season cause looking at the reshuffle we were forced into (much discussed) we didnt really have a right to finish where we did. im thinking that with more solidity, a more settled squad and the few tweaks NP is making we're in for a great season. possibly not a promotion chasing season but one where we'll be taken much more seriously as contenders for the following season.
beverleytiger, we're singing from the same hym sheet! my one major NP bug bear from last season was that we played harper in the centre of midfield and our most gifted regular starter out on the right. robert koren is world cup captain and should have been given the opportunity to dictate games. he went missing because he wasnt being given the chance to boss things as i believe he is well capable of. koren plays where he should and how he can and there's your midfield creativity and goals. i'll be the first to admit that my resentment of harper was partially down to this misguided strategy.

long term i think this season could see cameron stewart will be a real genuine star upon his return, great for hull city as both a player but also a potentially lucrative asset.

I am also very excited about what is on the horizon. The fixture list has been kind as well. All things being equal there is no reason at all why Hull City cannot WIN there first 5 league games in August. All 5 teams will be much weaker than they were last season and Hull are stronger. There. Ive nailed my colours to the mast already. Maybe a couple of carling cup wins as well as we enter the first international break on the after reading home game.

That will give NP time to assess where we are and what he needs to do before the transfer window closes. Plus sort out any loan deals in and out during the break. Not long now to Ferriby and our first trophy of the season AGAIN. LOL
