To be honest, not sure, we will have/had to name a 25 man squad, with Mutch leaving that does leave open a spot. Whether or not it's too late, or he deemed not up to it I don't know. Would love to see him score another one like against Arsenal, he looked so promising at times, well at least when he wasn't being a total disaster.
A good question. The rules as at start of 2014/15 season: "After the closing of the summer transfer window each Premier League club had a deadline of 5pm on 3 September to submit a squad list containing no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the "Home Grown Player" (HGP) criteria. The remainder of the squad, up to a total of 25 players, must be home grown. A Home Grown Player means a player who, irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21). Changes to the squad list of 25 may be made during the period of a transfer window. Under-21 players are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players per squad. For the 2014/15 campaign Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 1993." Since we've lost Mutch, hopefully someone remembered to add Diakite to the squad...
Thanks for the research, i'm far too lazy to get that done. I think most had forgot he existed, apart from Clint there would be nobody I would want to score the goal to keep us up, others would obviously deserve it more but it would be a touch on the funny side
Elmer has gone too I think. Wasn't he in the 25? Not sure if he is over 21. I don't see either him or Diakite in the list on the official, though Zarate is. Not sure that is up to date though.
This was the original, and you're right, Ehmer was in: Queens Park Rangers 25 squad players (*=Home grown) *Austin, Charlie *Barton, Joseph *Caulker, Steven Roy Cordiero, Sandro Raniere Guimaraes *Dunne, Richard Patrick *Ehmer, Maximilian Andreas Fer, Leroy *Ferdinand, Rio Gavin *Green, Robert Paul *Henry, Karl Levi Daniel *Hill, Clinton Scott *Hoilett, David Wayne Isla, Mauricio Kranjcar, Niko *McCarthy, Alex Simon *Murphy, Brian *Mutch, Jordon James Edward Sydney *Onuoha, Chinedum *Phillips, Matthew Sukyoung, Yun *Taarabt, Adel *Traore, Armand Vargas Rojas, Eduardo Jesus *Wright-Phillips, Shaun Cameron *Zamora, Robert Lester
Had forgot about Zarate, whoops, not sure how he feels about playting for the club after the transfer day situation, however I'm sure Ehmer was in the squad
With a difficult decision, as there are a couple of options Karl Henry wins the worst middle name competition!
Yes, and Jordon James Edward Sydney Mutch sounds much to posh to play in South London...come to think of it, Sid Mutch sounds to posh for South London too
Assuming that he has been added to the squad (which I very much doubt given that HR was clearly intent on bringing in new players right up until deadline day when TF's message finally sunk in) who would he replace in the current line up? In many ways Karl Henry has been our best player so far and IMO should stay first choice for defensive midfield. Joey Barton? Diakite could hardly play more loose passes than JB and he clearly has the same ability to hassle the opposition. Just putting it out there to let the JB lovers vent their spleen
Sod it, let's play him. With no away points, no transfers, no manager and the window now shut we gonna have to do it the hard way anyway. We might as well make it even more interesting by playing with ten men on the pitch for the majority of the remaining games.
Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not?
Two answers I think. He was on a season long loan to the Arab team...something like El Eitihad... He was returned suddenly to us 6 months early, for a yet undisclosed reason. ..He has alleged had previous health issues which may/ may not be relevant. He was returned to us on Monday....suddenly after the window had shut. On this one, believe it or not, I am happy to go along with the club actually knowing what it is doing.
There is a good post by Hull City Ricardo on the ' 25 Man Squad ' thread that explains the reason. Still a disappointment though I agree.
