I find it staggering that we are 9th in the Premier League and yet a substantial amount of our fans still want to belittle us, pull us down or dismiss any great results that we achieve.

Our first win at Southampton in 62 years and people still slag off the team/manager/Club.

Very easy to be complacent and have short memories. I am very pleased overall. Only disappointed with the FA cup performance and the Chelsea performance

A bit harsh mate. Everyone is entitled to their opinions even if they differ to yours that doesn't make them W.A.N.K.E.R.S. It means they have an opinion and stop that and there is no point in football.

Harsh? Maybe, but it's on the back of travelling down to Southampton on Sunday and from the very first minute a "fan" next to me shouted "Taylor, you're playing like a minge". He continued this tirade until I finally cracked and gave him a piece of my mind. People get frustrated which I fully understand, but there is a growing percentage of our fan base who's sole aim is to criticise or abuse the Club, players and/or manager. It's premeditated and destructive.

But they are still entitled to their opinions even if you dont like it and I believe no one should take that away from them. Do you belive that Taylor heard him shouting it, I doubt it so its not destructive. What I don't agree with is fans booing at bad results now that is destructive. No player goes on a pitch to intentially lose. Well I hope not anyway.

We were pitchside so he could hear him. Would you call someone who abuses your own player in the FIRST minute a fan? I would assume that the intention of ALL fans who attend a match is to get behind the team??

There is no way Taylor heard him, a collective chant then yes. Of course the job of fans is to get behind the team. Have you never shouted something at a player which wasnt encouraging. I would suggest yes you have as all of us have. I have no doubt that some fans are always moaning. I heard a guy at Tranmere from minute one abuse fulton but did it affect him no. he just made a prick of himself in fron of all the other fns as no doubt this guy did.

I don't think I have! And that's being honest. I don't see the point of slating our own players off - that's the job of the opposing fans!

    Number 5,
I was responding to Valley's comment on ( / excuse for) our performance.
He stated that we had 6 players missing I pointed out that they were in a similar situation yet still managed to play good, stylish, football.
If you dominate possession and spend most of the game in your attacking third you will win more than you lose.
That is their philosophy regardless of injuries to star players. Maybe that is why they are 4th.

It used to be our philosophy.

The term 'The Swansea Way' is sounding hollow at present. As far as I can make out, the term has ceased to mean anything.

Not the goal itself, that was pure brilliance, but that surely was not the plan. 9 times out of 10 that would fly high or wide or the keeper would get it, thats the part I am on about, you can't rely on that sort of goal week in week out. Its the same sort of goal that Bellamy scored against us to give Cardiff the 1-0 win at our place in the Championship, a cracking goal, worthy of winning any match, but play that game 10 times and that goal is a freak goal.

I am also not trying to belittle anyone, I am trying to have a differing opinion to those saying it was the plan all along to sit tight at the back and look **** first half, and then get better in the second half and score from our only shot on target which happened to be an absolute creamer. Whilst some claim that was enough for us to DESERVE the 3 points? 1 shot on ****ign target was enough? Come on, surely even you have to see the luck involved there.

But I will leave you sit there and think anyone who has a differing opinion to yourself a ****er, I am a ****er, very proud of it too, so are you I bet. But I will happily leave you to bury your head and pretend like Southampton shouldn't feel a bit robbed after that result. I bet your the sort who would cry we get robbed if the game had been the opposite, us being Southampton, and them holding on at the back and scoring their only shot on target.

I don't see it as luck. We managed the game well and basically Southampton blew themselves out. Monk knew they would come out all guns blazing as they were chasing Champions League points and would have targeted us as a three pointer. In the end Southampton were clueless, merely lobbing the ball into the box because they couldn't break down our defence. We counterattacked and killed them with a sucker punch. As it for it being our only shot on target, we also hit the post so we were the closest to scoring on two occasions as well as Gomis fizzing one past the post in the first half, so I don't see it being luck at all.

As for handling peoples differing opinions I have no problem with that, but when I see people systematically abuse or berate our Club then yes I do have a problem with it. I don't come on this forum too often because basically it is too negative. It is the same 5 or 6 posters systematically slating off the Club and in a week when we've achieved one of the great results in our history (a first away win at Southampton for 62 years) I find it particularly sad. These moments are here to be enjoyed - but there are obviously some people who can't even enjoy great victories.

I just don't like the hypocrisy at times, some of the posters saying we deserved the win would be the first to cry robbery if it were the other way around. Which is why earlier I posted the two instances where two comments could be made depending on which team you supported. I personally didn't think Southampton did enough to win the game, and at the same time I don't think we did either. Its not an opinion to berate the club, its my honest opinion of the match. My biggest gripe was how **** we were in the first half.

Don't forget the save by Fab, and the two goal line clearances by Ash too. We were not the only ones who came close.

My biggest gripe is the changing of the goalposts regarding 'The Swansea Way' and the lies that our **** performance was all part of Monk's wonderful plan.

You tend to have 2 banks of 4 sitting deep when the opposition are steamrollering you and you can't get the ball off them.

This "tactic" is becoming the norm.

Real fans care about these sorts of things.

I'm aware of how close they came, although considering all the possession they had, they did very little with it. I'm not too bothered by our first half performance. Our last League match ended up as a thumping, we could and probably should have been 7-0 down at half time against Chelsea. As far as I am concerned Southampton was about getting back to basics and I would have been delighted with a crappy 0-0.

As it was, the game evolved, we worked our way into it and got the victory, so it's happy days.
