    Good Morning Everyone,

For the first time in a long time Leeds escaped a transfer window unscathed.

Yesterday we signed a big 6-4 Albanian international centre forward called Cani from Catania, and managed to get rid of Tonge (end of season loan) and cancel Norris' contract.

If you add to that the signings of Bamba and N'goyi, I think we've done pretty well when you consider we are under a transfer embargo.

Tonge was set to pack his bags and travel down to the road to Bradford, until Millwall hijacked the deal and agreed to pay the vast majority of Tonge's wages.

Talking about wages. Portsmouth are STILL paying out wages who left the club years ago, and a lot of them were / are Leeds players.

Norris, Varney, Ashdown, Pearce and even Michael Brown are on the list.

At least we know the reason why we were after those players, and why we were trying to sign Halford and Ward.

Par for the course when clubs implode financially, we have done plenty of ongoing wage payments in the past.

Morning all ... Football's wages are just plain wrong, below average players being massively overpaid ... at least our high earners are being whittled down

    Mornin ell

While agree with most about overpaid players wage capping is very difficult unless the whole world does it. Take rugby union, England wage cap their clubs, but France don't. Then you end up with the English premier champions losing their top players to French clubs.

    Morning all

If the FA tried to put a cap on wages the Premier League and Sky would tell them where to get off. They've built a brand for the Premier League and want the best players/biggest names in the world. In the end money is the name of the game and sky/prem has the money so they can call the shots.

Good morning to Matt and co from a sunny Cote de Bardsey
Well I think we did alright this last month we have got rid of a big wage earner in Warnock young Taylor has stepped up to the plate and saved the club lots of money Norris has been shown the door at last Pearce has the opportunity to get his career back on track whilst Tonge has been loaned out agian saving the club money all be it we are still paying part of his wages.
Now lets see what we have brought in Cani a striker Granddi and Bamba .I have only heard of one of those so they are unknowns lets hope we have done well
You have to feel sorry for the fans at Pompey how can you possibly afford to pay these players and at the same time steady a sinking ship

Afternoon all, a transfer window with three out and three in, we knew two were never going to feature again so I guess it is all good business.

Some strange and questionable things probably happening behind the scenes that we might hear about one day, the Wooton situation and Austin, roll on Saturday

How you even have the nerve to mock us when you've just signed Michael Tonge is beyond me.

    Mighty, he'll serve you well.

He's not as fast as he used to be, but still got it. Best played in a deep creative role these days. Was out of the picture with us & was even assisting Redders for a while. Got a call-up & we all thought he'd be dreadful as he wasn't match fit. He played a stonker!

If he was a little faster (and a big bit cheaper), I'm sure we'd have kept him.

I think the Wootton block was to cover his back so to speak. We right back after he finally managed to get Warnock out of the door. When your left with Byram who is playing Midfield, Baeradi who doesn't seem to make the first team and is bench at best and Taylor you've only got 2 or 3 full back and at that Wootton is needed. I was expecting him to be off loaded to Rotherham but I think Warnock going to Derby put the breaks on that. I don't know why we didn't sign another right back to replace him but we might get one in the summer, same a left back.

Evening all. A good TW. Kept all the kids, sold/parted company with players best playing for our academy team down in Deptford. Not quite sure though why we sold Matt Smith, only to then replace him with Cani. Only time will tell if this is a good decision

Just because he's 17th choice midfielder at Leeds doesn't mean he's crap.

    OK MAYBE IT DOES.<laugh>

Then you need a rule that says you can't play for England unless you play you're club rugby in England.Works with NZ.
