That reminds me - 6 nations starts on Friday. Is there any appetite for a thread or is everyone happy to keep it on here. Of course it might just be me and Fez screaming about injuries and officials and Bolton pining for the days of Andy Irving, Roy Laidlaw and John Rutherford <whistle>

Or Kenny Logan ( would prefer his wife though), Gavin Hastings, Tom Smith and Chris Paterson...

I think they currently have their best squad for years - particularly Visser, Lamont, Laidlaw, Hogg and Ritchie Gray - could even pull off a surprise this year (like, win a match...)

That was some team in 1990. Still one of the most amazing spectacles I have witnessed regardless of the result.

Good grief!!!! How the flying **** did that happen???? 30 seconds to play, 2nd and goal and you don't run the ball. ARE YOU INSANE??? Congratulations Seahawks, you snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory. Muppetry of the highest order.

To me the song is a dirge (especially when the Pogue bloke sings his bit) and his appearance on the video makes me feel sick - those teeth (or gaps) ugh!

I'm afraid I have come to dislike just about every Xmas song over the years - drives me mad going into any Shopping Centre, Supermarket or DIY shed from early October onwards.

Sad that Kirsty McColl's legacy to most people is that.........

One of my favourite songs, being a big Pogues fan - but I had an argument with a colleague about it last year. She was playing it to her class and couldn't understand why when I suggested it was inappropriate for 10 year-olds .

    You're a bum
    You're a punk
You're an old slut on junk
Lying there almost dead on a drip in that bed
    You scumbag, you maggot
    You cheap lousy ***got
    Happy Christmas your arse
I pray God it's our last

I suspect that she had never actually listened to the lyrics...

Never mind 10 year olds - that's pretty foul for anyone to listen to - at any time never mind Christmas. "old slut on junk" indeed!

sorry to say the 10 year olds will know more and here more in the playground
i took an 8 and 10 to the vic and i told them that they could hear some swearing and if they repeated it there mum would not let them go again
and i was put in my place by the 8 year old " grandad we know all the words and when its right to use them and when not to" that told me

Stuart Lancaster has not agreed to closing the roof at the Millennium Stadium on Friday night so it's staying open. Seems sensible to me but suspect he will get criticised. Good to see Dan Cole in the side again.

Decided for a bit of fun to take part in the ICC Fantasy Cricket World Cup - shows how seriously I'm taking it as I have Andrew Balbirnie and Paul Stirling of Ireland and Josh Davey of Scotland in my team - let's see who is the first to work out why. If anyone else wants a go, here's the link: https://fantasy.icc-cricket.com/

Good win for England tonight in Cardiff. Thought the ref had a few dodgy moments. Seem to have mentioned refs rather too much lately. :emoticon-0105-wink:
