Mid field players are involved more in the game than most. Lars has played a lot of games this season and I would benefit from a rest, if Gus thinks we can afford to that is.
Not a hope in hell of Defoe starting this game..He is just getting back up to speed in games and will not be asked to start this game just a couple of days after a tough league game. I predict that Fletcher and Graham will start up front, with Defoe and Wickham on the bench.
Liam Birdcage deserves to lose his place to me, or one of my daughters (that means anybody) never mind to Rodders, who actually has some potential (I think that I've seen a tiny bit, but I'm not sure)

This is a decnt team and would also give us quite a strong bench to change things if necessary. Bugger just noticed Coates name there. Somebody else please instead.
Seb will be vital on Saturday and ran his legs off against Burnley, I'd rest him. Mannone in for certain, he's a good keeper and needs his confidence maintaining in case Pants is injured. I'd play Graham up with Defoe and leave Wickham & Fletcher to come on in case. I'd love to see Giacherrini on from the start but with Bridcutt in his 'boring but useful' role. He played well against Burnley and I believe he'll gradually improve.
I read somewhere that Defoe might be rested mate, maybe come on from the bench if needed but i expect either Fletch/Wickham or Fletch/Graham to start
Defoe starts, so does gaic and alverez, same defence, mannone in, bridcutt, Gomez and Wickham keep their place Only 6 subs though, no rodwell on bench
