Are we expecting too much from Sven and our owners?

Are we happy with our (fans) positioning in the Championship's big boy rankings?

Are we assuming that every player will automatically want to join LCFC?

To be honest I'm becoming a little uncomfortable with the slight undertone of arrogance the whole of LCFC saga / Fans are displaying.

We are a midlands club with a decent following and therefore reasonable expectation of success to go with it. Yes we've got money, but, and yes I see a but, are we getting too big for our boots? I think we are a little. I would prefer an expectation level a little bit more realistic. I will put this for the record now: this could all go wrong. Why? Look at Middlesborough last season. Hands down favourites for promotion and a "Big" club in this division. Their owner was expectant. Their fans were expectant. The press were expectant. Look what happened...

I know these comments will receive reasoned retorts an angry responses, but I say this:

If BCFC don't want to sell their player and the player wants to stay, then let it go Sven.

Only sign players who want to be here.

Now, we don't know yet if Maynard wants out? Until this is known we should assume he's off radar, particularly after 3 turned down bids. If the board at BCFC knew he would leave and wanted out, then it'd be done by now. Maybe I just don't get it?

I think, as decent fans, we must row in our arrogance towards transfer targets, particularly those that seem indifferent towards joining LCFC. Yes we're big. Yes, we'll be getting bigger I'm sure, but lets just keep our feet on the ground a bit more, for now.

Arrogance? Who's being arrogant? It's not arrogant to laugh off every little turd from Bristol who comes on our board to tell us who we will and will not sign.

It's not arrogant to be confident. It's not arrogant to have banter. And when does anyone have banter with rival fans without any 'My club's better than yours' 'arrogance'?

We're being no more arrogant than Hull, Leeds or Bristol fans. In fact we are easily less arrogant than 2 of those.

In fact shouldn't this be on the Forest board?
 
We had a great 2 years under Nigel he restored a lot of pride and belief back into our club. Then he leaves a rich ambitious owners come in and the next for we know our manager is Sven Goran Eriksson. We are signing people like Yakubu, Naughton, Kirkland, Davies, Van Aanholt. Their is talk of Beckham, Heskey, Owen, Santa Cruz, Henry. So people get excited and that cause jealousy by other people. They attack us so we respond by lauding our players, owners and our manager. Some say is arrogance but its just a retalyation to jealousy

Fans are excited and optimistic and that a good thing. Who remembers the Holloway and Levein days.

By the same token, if he wanted to sign a new contract so badly wouldn't it have been done by now?

We knew we'd have to pay a lot, possibly £5m plus, to get Maynard. Obviously Bristol were never going to just let him go easy, he's their best player by far.

What has exactly changed?

Exactly, wums have been talking all summer, they see us as a threat and try to put us down. So what are we going to say? 'Yeh, we're ****'. No.
 
Were confident and optimistic other team jealous so they try and shoot us down. Everyone hates the winners and the big teams

Part of being a fan is getting excited and carried away. Just look at Cov fans every year they think they have a great squad and a great chance of promotion just for them to finish just above the relegation zone. Thats what a fan is sometimes blind optimism and tunnel vision

Our best player 'by far' is he? hahahaha! sorry pal but you clearly dont know what your talking about, Maynards a quality striker yes and we'd like him to stay but if he did leave we have Brett Pitman would could quite easily score 20+ goal for us next season...

So desperate to keep hold of Maynard, don't think you've been clinging on to Pitman with interest from all sides...

But isn't it you lot who keep coming on here and saying how ambitious you are? So ambitious your ****ting yourself about losing your best player instead of feeling secure in the fact you can bring in quality players.

Don't want the truth? There is another option. You can **** off back to your own board and live in a dreamworld!

But if they knew maynard wanted to stay they would have signed him up by now! or at least spouted that he did on their official site. BUT they haven't so suggests he doesn't so holding out in the hope a prem club comes in so they don't have to sell to a "rival" pa.

'Worth' doesnt subsidies for quality in this day and age, what with over inflated signing on fees and player wages, is any Champioship striker really worth 8 million? i dont think so.

You harper on about Pitman coming from bournmouth yet Maynard came from Crewe Alexandra when we signed him so does this make Maynard a bad player, just because his previous club isnt up to scratch? i think not! oh and some stats for you to think about... Maynard scored 11 goals in his first full championship season, playing every game, Pitman scored 13 goals in his first championship season, not playing every game! Maynard then went on to score 20 league goals for us in his second season at championship level, so why cant Pitman? Pitman will be worth about 8 Million next season when hes bagged 20 goal, like Maynard did.

all of the above would sujest you know very little, so before posting total tripe, do abit of research would be my advice to you, or is that beyond a leicester fan? <doh>
