Ergo he wasn't a trialist at the time we signed him. Sounds like he was on trial at Salford in December, they gave him a contract, then we bought him straight away afterwards. Sounds fairly standard practice for our scouting network, at least we didn't pay £7.4 million for him this time.

I know he's not the great sage, but the point remains that RM do seem to be up to their usual tricks - 'quoting' the girlfriend in the press, trying to unsettle the player by any means possible and all the time there is also his agent Mendes in the background getting miffed by the thought of losing out on his percentage for Falcao's fee at the end of the season. The point remains - do we want (or need) Bale ?
I would rather a proper DM or B2B mf. And a top top CB or 2. And a RB if possible. I really dont like the idea of losing De Gea in all honesty.
You can never be sure with Real. This could all be part of the big tiff going on atm between Perez and Marca - their interest could all be down to Marca wanting to unsettle Bale rather than any definite interest in De Gea. Tbh I'd rather keep De Gea than get Bale. But if Madrid come in and De Gea decides to leave then I'd consider a swap for Bale. Tho' I would prefer we swap him for Varane plus cash as we need a good technical defender rather than another wide attacking player. Either way, we can't let any deal we do over De Gea distract us from getting the CB, CM and RB we need, regardless of whether Bale is included or not.

van Gaal did say everythings sorted and hes off on his hols. Reckon all deals will be done within a few weeks and a full pre season will be a massive boost for us.
If we sign Otamendi AND Hummels I will be fcking delighted. 2 top class CB's would be better than I'd hoped for.
