Yeah, but let's be honest here, before these two 'two week lay offs' we were still going to places like Alfreton Town and Welling and drawing games that we needed to win, these are tiny little clubs with tiny little resources and a club like ours should be leaps and bounds above them. The fact of the matter from my point of view is that the team lack a killer instinct and it is that instinct that you need if you are going to consistently beat sides at this level and it is that reason why I think that barring a remarkable run of results {Grimsby {A}, The Macc Lads {A} !} the best us supporters can hope for this term will be a somewhat footballing lottery at the beginning of May or whenever the play off fixtures are scheduled for.

Yes fully agree with the killer instinct. In the top 5 leagues, only Charlton have drawn more than us. We have drawn 13 games. If we had managed to turn 5 of those into wins, that would be 10 more points for us then we would be 3 points clear at the top. And I bet we could easily find 5 of those draws where we should have won where we dominated the game.

    Rovers 0 Grimsby 0
    FGR 1 Rovers 1
    Eastleigh 1 Rovers 1
    Rovers 1 Dover 1
    Aldershot 2 Rovers 2
    Alfreton 0 Rovers 0
    Rovers 1 Kidderminster 1
    Chester 2 Rovers 2
    Wrexham 0 Rovers 0
    Welling 0 Rovers 0
    Rovers 1 Torquay 1
    Woking 0 Rovers 0
    Dartford 2 Rovers 2

Chucked away a 2-0 lead at Chester
Took the lead twice at Dartford
We gave away a late goal vs Dover
Thats 6 points dropped from winning positions.

We had 2 goals disallowed for offside at Woking when replays shows 1 was definately onside and maybe the other was too. Thats another 2 points dropped.

We also huffed and puffed in the, FGR, Alfreton, Kidderminster and Welling games where the 'killer instinct' was missing. If we just put away 1 of these teams then that would be another 2 points meaning 10 points overall.

Then remember Wrexham, with McChrystal in goal, Alex Wall hit the bar and was unlucky then.

    Too many draws!

Also note that 5 of these 13 draws was a complete shut out 0-0 games. Chances were there but no ruthless, clinical and lack of killer instinct in front of goal.

Easter would have helped with this. Now he is out injured for what I presume is a good amount of time, so we are back to square 1 again. Taylor/Blissett starting with Harrison as a sub cover.

DC is reportedly after Connor Clifford from Southend , they also have striker that I believe is on a free transfer like Clifford maybe we could get both. Cant remember the strikers name but he is being chased by 4 conference clubs Striker now joined Macclesfieid

    Awful pitch conditions.

Looked like to me that for their 1st goal, a Dartford player was in front of Mildenhall and was backing in into Mildenhall which stopped Mildenhall getting the ball. I have seen that 9 times out of 10 given as a free kick to the keeper.

Our 1st goal was shocking defending by them and our 2nd goal was embarrassing. We were very fortunate to score either goals!

Great free kick for them though.

Wow, the pitch was even worse than I thought.

Perhaps it's because I remember pitches like the Baseball Ground, but I don't
think it was anywhere near unplayable (I was there).
There was grass down the wings but we weren't bright enough to use it!!
At no time did the ball 'stick', and there were few incidences of players
    falling or slipping over.
To me this was a great reminder of how pitches used to be.
Professional players should be able to adjust accordingly

Going by the commentators on Saturday they were wondering how the game was able to go ahead or even continue and said a few times that they wondered if the official abandones the game.

Personally im glad it went ahead and also continued until it was over. The players really needed the run out and a heavy pitch would have been just the thing they needed.

I have said many times in the past that games get postponed/abandoned far too easily. Health and saftey gone mad.

But the pitch does look awful. Wouldnt have helped our game plan at all and is Easter's injury due to the pitch? I dont know what happened if it was a knock by the opposition or not. I missed that on the radio. I know its an knee injury but what caused it im unsure of at the moment and the club is very quiet on his injury at the moment. Nothing said on how long they think it he will be out for.
