This is interesting: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 I wonder if it will ever happen?
Doubt it, and its all a bit embarrassing really- The only way I see it is that the FA request the tie to be replayed- Not that we need that- Probably just get a reprimand and we all move on-
There is a FIFA investigation into why he didn't play for his country due to injury, but yet he played for WHU and scored the winner against us. Unfortunately for us, and whatever the circumstances, it still smacks of sour grapes on our part like the Rovers and Wycombe situation, and even if there is any mileage in it, why are we only asking for £250k ? If the club really wish to launch a grievance against West Ham, I find it very odd that we've named our price already. IMHO we lost, so why don't we just move on
I posted something similar on another thread - hope we keep out of it - he played and we lost - end of
£250k would probably represent the amount earned from a replay.. Lets remember that WHU appear to be cheating here.. to me if he's fit enough to score against us, he was fit enough to turn out for his country! Cant fly? Yeah right...
We don't want a replay, nor are we claiming for one. We are claiming if they didn't score we would of had that extra income. Not bad really, we know we would lose so just want the money without breaking sweat.
Why should it be our problem that the player decided to play for his club and not his country? I'm all for WHU to be warned by FIFA for doing this, but frankly I don't see why we should get anything. We played them in a game of football and lost. It's impossible to say if we would have earned a replay if he were to not play. Regardless, can FIFA even fine West Ham? They have absolutely no power over here; nor does his national FA. Personally, I doubt we've asked for anything. I also doubt that FIFA even give a ****. It's probably the press throwing their typical bullshit around.
Strangely enough if he didn't score and we drew, we would of changed the course of our life's by celebrating that bit longer or mourning less. And then met that person we met after later changing the outcome of their life. We could of been in world war 3 now!! What's the statistical odds please JGF On the plus side if we drew, red robin would write countless new threads, so in fairness him playing against the rules worked in our favour.
It's the Daily Mail fabricating a claim, as has been written, we played well, we got beat by a Premier side, we earned our money in a correct fashion, there is bigger fish to fry, let's get on with it, good luck West Ham Utd, we are moving on to Wembley and I hope the Championship. I also doubt we have persued this matter, I think it's bullshit...
Well he scored the winner against us, fair enough, but why didn't they play him against Liverpool, they were advised not to play him, why not, it seems a bit strange that WHam say they have done nothing wrong, yet leave out there leading goalscorer, strange to me, how about you.
Alistair Durden@alidurdenBBC 48 mins48 minutes ago Could #BristolCity be reinstated in the FA Cup due to West Ham playing Sakho? These are FIFA rules via @HonestFrank. please log in to view this image Just spotted this on Twitter, it makes you think...
Well if Sheffield United beat Preston in their replay we would not have a game on 14 February anyway - maybe we could rustle up a team to take to West Brom for the 5th round?? It's live on TV as well!
Well that is black and white we will be reinstated on the above facts. West brom here we come so it seems. They won the game with a player that should not have played, and scored the winning goal.
Reading the article it claims that City will seek £250,000 damages BUT nowhere does it quote anyone from BCFC. A typical piece of ****e journalism by the Mail. I sincerely hope that SL would not sanction anything like this. It is not our problem.
Never forget Warnock's reaction to the Freddie Sears goal that wasn't for Palace- Went absolutely nuclear on the touchline!- Had a certain amount of sympathy with him. The ref was the only person in the crowd who thought it wasn't a goal. Just to rub it in, we got the one and only goal in 89th minute!
For me it would be a resounding NO to actively seek compo, but if FIFA or the FA lick West Ham out and reinstate us then that is a billy bonus, but again not something we should pursue. Let things lie where they fall. I don't think WHU did anything wrong tbh, if he wasn't fit to fly and join the Senegal squad pre tournament he wasn't fit to fly, that doesn't mean he shouldn't play again for the 4 weeks or so the AFCON is in if he subsequently becomes fit.
