Yep, looked completely out of place at the end of last season but did very well alongside Carroll - an inexperienced pairing.

He came out with the "Game Plan" line because I told him on here last week that he had better get his "Game Plan" sorted ASAP.........................<cheers>

By the way Bob doesn't appreciate Taylors qualities, the boy did well today and is having a great season, and less of the North Wales digs, nothing wrong with North Wales at all, my ancestors are from there, so be careful Bob.............<laugh>

Thought Carroll and Fulton did well. Carroll looked good going forward in 2nd half and Fulton likes a challenge. Gomis actually put some effort in and showed some nice touches but don't think he's used to being a lone striker. Dyer's touch was woeful and Barrow is not Prem standard yet.

Shelvey got on my tits. Walking round. Having a pout every time a ball didn't go to feet instead of putting some effort in to get the ball back. He did two good things all game - hit the post and scored the goal. The rest just annoyed me.

Happy with the three points though

....same here but I do think that in the second half he was always the one player trying to do something positive to create/score a goal (even though most of what he did didn't come off). He took players on, tried some passes that nearly put people away and was prepared to shoot.

I can't remember whether it was Swanselona or Kidderz that suggested he should only be considered as an AM option but I agree with that.
He really pisses me off in CM for all of the reasons you state above, he's a luxury player I reckon....he can't be relied on to work and take responsibility.
Frankly, if he isn't prepared to sit on the bench behind Siggy I would get rid.

So are half on mine - hence the comment <ok>

    ps
I appreciate and know what good full back work is and it isn't Taylor. I also dislike his attitude which has seen him associated with moves away from us almost from the time he came to the Liberty, I don't like the way he barracks other players when he is at fault, I don't like the way our wingers have to become full backs to make up for his positioning (but would accept this maybe coached as Tiendalli did the same), I don't like the way he plays 97/100 passes backwards, I don't like his petulance and I don't like the way the back four gets dragged across to fill spaces when he jogs back from forward positions ... other than that he's OK.

Good win yesterday for you Jacks, I'm just getting over the disappointment but just wanted to say that Ashley Williams gave the best individual defensive performance i've ever seen at our place, a real Captain's role and definately stopped us winning the 3 points.
Hope you stick with Gary Monk, as I think he is a good young Manager who wants his team to play the right way. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Great win, But lets not get away from how bad we were in the first half. It was at best pathetic, If the plan was to be that poor then it worked. However there was a marked improvement in the second half and was impressed with the willingness to work and keep that clean sheet. All in all a fantastic win.

I dont think it was bad at all i thought it was a brilliant display of defending for any team i have ever seen in the premiership who is on the back foot. It can win you games...oh it did <laugh>

After getting stuffed 5-0 in our last league match, we were never going to go away to a top four team and play open attractive football with a depleted/changed team.
Koeman was all out to get three points yesterday in order to maintain the Saints drive for a Champions League spot.

Everyone in the ground knew that. The Swans sat back, soaked up the pressure and delivered a ruthless counter attack to win the game. Classic tactics <ok>

I see Southampton have decided not to appeal Bertrands red card. Koeman must have changed his tune after watching a reply of the assault.

I disagree with that spin on it. It was more like 'the Swans were dominated an outplayed for large portions of the game .... etc

Sitting back and soaking up pressure intentionally is not the same as being forced to defend because you cant get hold of the ball.

I disagree with Mr White as well. That's just spin. Apart from the CB's we were bloody awful for most of that game and were very fortunate Southampton didn't have their shooting boots on. But it was a very good defensive display and Williams brought out hi best display of the season imo. We mugged them in the end just like they did to us in the reverse fixture. I'll take playing badly and winning any day of the week. <diva>
