Where would you recommend to go in "Town" ? I done one last week and switched from drinking Stella to drinking the real ales in proper ale houses and here's my list in order: Globe (met here) Dispensary Roscoe head Belvedere Ye cracke White star Ye olde hole in the wall Vernon Ship and mitre to finish off. Two of the lads had come through from Chester so the return leg is at Chester .
Went to yesterday, Picture House The Yankee Bar The Big House The Liffey Pogue Mahone's The Central and finally The Old Bank in the Moss for a nighcap. But that's a normal Sunday for me.
Can't be arsed with pub crawls any more. Also I no longer live in the Pool and I've never lived in Chester, so all in all, a pretty useless contribution from me. Wait for it..............
When we went in Ye cracke there was a fella dressed as John Lennon, with Beatle suit ,black mopped hair, must be for the tourists?
I don'i live in L/pool anymore either now live over the water with limited choice of pubs, so its nice to pop over once in a while.
The Belmont, The Albert, swift one in Epstein's, go the match, Flat Iron and back to The Belly for the night #probablythegreatestpubcrawlintheworld
Only local effects you'll get in beehive are the old men trying not to nod off on the bar... decent boozer tho Paradise Street
#doesbillyevergoout Talking of the Beehive....I remember getting a legger out of there from a bunch of fat bitters after the derby (after Rosenthal's late, late winner). Must have been about thirty of them chasing 5 or 6 of us....and they never even got close Fat bastards the blues seriously...and they can't throw pint glasses for ****
I'm sure it was a blue pub back then but never went in it much before then and I've kinda avoided it ever since
Haven't been in there for a good few years, but the last time was when we played Deportivo and back then there was LFC pics behind the bar, musta got took over by a bluenose. Edit, Just checked, it was 10 years ago. There's probably been a few new managers since then.
