First half, he gave the ball away consistently. I was a fan of his but think he needs a rest or we just need to change it to change our luck...............
Are we in that unfortunate position of not being very good and not very lucky......? If so then as sure as night follows day, so does relegation......
He's got a ****ing point to be fair. A few of our defenders (and Henry) probably rivalled Walters for Stoke's MOTM. If we don't get one in today I'd like to see: Isla - Onouha - Caulker - Yun line up at the weekend.
Only thing is that Isla really doesn't look like a right back and am sure that he would provide tonnes more by playing wide right and likewise Vargas just behind a front man. The big problem is the rest of the 2/3 we would play in mid -midfield are non entities - Henry - Maximising what he can do for us with his skill level, but not Premiership standard - No pace. Barton - Runs and that's it - wastes our deadballs and is so often out of position - No pace Fer - As a 2?, no chance, as a 3? - takes out Vargas and leaves only 1 up front. Out on the left? - No chance Faurlin - Injured, probably that's it for him now Sandro - Good player in his day - but slow and not the type to start free flowing, quick moves
He’s hardly one to talk. Most of this season the opposition have been able to think of Barton as someone to play a one two with. Give it to him and he’ll give it straight back to someone on the other team. Also remember the City game when he played the ball back and Green saved a 1 on 1. All this is crap anyway as the manager take’s responsibility. He trys to dodge it with blaming individual errors’ but that is the essence of football. If we were to win games due to the oppositions “individual errors” or our own individual bits of skill, solo goals or absolute screamers you can bet Redknapp would be looking to take all the credit and Harry’s fan club would be saying, “see I told you so”
Is this guy having a laugh? He's criticizing others for individual errors??? Could somebody please pop the Joey Barton Bubble?
The way he phrases it about the previous seasons, it's as if he is trying to distance himself from the poor away record. I can only count 2 away wins he's been involved in over the course of a season and a half in the Premiership with us so he shouldn't be sounding so judgemental. Rather than looking like a motivational speech, it gives the impression of things being tense and disjointed in the dressing room. If that's not the case then he could have said all this in private.
I would like to see this lineup: ----------------------------Green---------------------------- Onuoha---------Dunne--------Caulker-----------Hill -----------------------Fer---------Henry------------------- Isla-------------------------------------------------------Yun ---------------------Vargas--------------------------------- -----------------------------------Austin-------------------- Should make us harder to beat and also play players in their prefered positions.
Close to mine and on reflection it will make us harder to beat - but beat us they will when you have a defense consisting of Hill, Dunne, Onouha & Dunne protected by Henry. I've faced it - we just haven't got very good players.
Assuming that Barton is un-dropable have him replace Henry (hold breath) as the defensive holding player breaking up the play and giving the ball to the more attacking players. I would also move YSY to left back and bring in Zareta (who he?) on the left side......... Other than that the rest works for me....
