The sale of guitars has doubled in the last 10 years according to a piece on BBC Ulster's Evening Extra programme. How awesome is that? Hopefully good rock is on the way back. To celebrate here is a wee clip for your enjoyment http://youtu.be/WoAXW30mMAg Have fun brothers!!!
I suspect for every potential decent Rock band we will have 1000 Baybyshambles/Razorlights/Strokes. Lots of bands have guitars, unfortuntely few know how to play them to any great effect.
What a tune... Love Stevie's cover
Hows this for a guitar by the way? If I had the money I would buy one as an investemt. please log in to view this image http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Firebird/Gibson-USA/Firebird-X.aspx
Ooh I love Stevie Ray Vaughn. I do hope we will get a guitar player who will be remembered like him so many years after they start out. We are long overdue the next big thing.
Can't beat a bit of good Gilmour...
Quality stuff... I used to constantly play this in my bedroom. Probably why I got thrown out. Gilmour is a masterful player
http://youtu.be/iPuOGaoDeIE http://youtu.be/vUNxqE_3N0c Another classic. I do love a bit of Rush - the intro to Limelight is awesome
Never really enjoyed Rush for the most part. Some of the instrumentals like 2112 (the First bit!) and YYZ are quite amazing however
Nothing however can beat this, truely amazing.
Yea awesome guitarist... It's a great shame that the likes of Bonamassa, Cray and Kenny Wayne Shepherd don't get any sort of attention. I had high hopes for John Mayer at one time, but his latest album seems to suggest he's going down the pop route in order to appeal to the majority. Sell out, he was heavily influenced by SRV as well, shame.
I have to agree with you on Mayer. He had such promise. It happens too often though where talented musicians change their sound to appeal to the masses. The true greats stay true to the kind of music they love not the more mainstream commercial crap.
My favourite Guitarist is Tom Morello. Maybe not technically the best but a one of a kind.
And unfortunately I can't see a change any time soon. Culture as a whole has just seemed to get lazier and lazier as the decades go on. Maybe it's technology making everything far to easy than it should be. Anything can be done with a computer nowadays Talking about Mayer, just put on Continuum. Brilliant album , how things have changed!
There's a young girl who plays in Leeds and around yorkshire called Chantelle Mcgregor, she's stayed true to the kind of music she loves,(blues), she's jammed with Bonamassa, and Paul jones mentions her regularly on his radio show, she definitely on her way, check her out, you won't believe what you hear, she does Stevie, Jimi, Satriani, Vai, the lot, ubelievable guitar player, and only about about 23yrs old.
