The whole point of getting Lennon was to inject some much needed pace into our team, whether or not we sign him we still need pace in there. Plan B will be someone who is available who has bags of pace, Obafemi Martins on loan? Ladbrokes had us linked with him a week or so ago, but from what I remember from his days in the Premier League he was very quick!
Think SB knew he wasn't coming on Saturday, he dropped a hint in his post match interview with David Burns saying after Saturday he might not want to come to city.
Oh my word why do people keep churning that one out? 1) He's absolutely ****e and 2) he's about 47. He's older than Jay Jay was when he signed for us and most people think he was about 44.
Transfer Centre Live @TransferCentreL DONE DEAL: Wigan Athletic have completed the signing of Leeds United midfielder Rodolph Austin. Pete O'Rourke @SportsPeteO Sunderland winger Charis Mavrias has completed a season-long switch to Panathinaikos. #SAFC Harry Kane has just signed a new 5 1/2 year deal.
Made me laugh. "@Tim_Burgess: #TransferDeadlineDay We've just been offered Bez till the end of the season : /"
I had my doubts about the Lennon deal from the start for a number of reasons. First of all I don't think we need a "Luxury" player. Secondly, I think he is under pressure from Spurs to join us, as they will no doubt loose out on a fair whack of money from the Livermore and Dawson deals if we are relegated. Consequently I doubt the player is motivated to join us at all. As I said elsewhere, I think we've already made an effective signing this window in the form of Phelan, in terms of affecting performances, so Lennon genuinely is no great loss and probably a blessing. Now, what about Lambert?
Transfer Centre Live @TransferCentreL Reading are close to signing former Portsmouth, Everton and Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu. I wouldn't mind him.
Who else are we going to sign eh? Come on oh wise one, our options are disappearing rapidly, we are all going to be sat watching SSN with Bruce and Ehab Allam at the training ground scratching their heads saying "We were so close to signing N'Doye and Lennon, however they fell through with only 2 hours to go and we had no plan B." The only hope we have of signing anyone is probably getting Manchester United to loan us a youngster, with Phelan now at the club we have even more links with them. Possibly James Wilson or Jesse Lingard on loan? I'm not sure, but we are all clutching at straws, including Bruce.
Transfer News @FootieWriter Danny Ings has signed a pre-contract agreement with Real Sociedad. Transfer Centre Live @TransferCentreL Burnley have made a £3m bid for West Brom midfielder Graham Dorrans.
10:21 HULL UPDATE Our man at Hull City, Tim Thornton, has an update for us on a potentially busy day on Humberside. Could be a long night for Steve Bruce. “Don't rule out a winger arriving at West Brom - and don't rule out a move for Carlton Cole. 60/40 the odds in favour of that one happening. A late bid for Rickie Lambert? Don't rule that out, either, and Darren Fletcher to West Brom is a move not yet dead, too. I'm predicting a hectic day here...” Since when was West Brom in Humberside? Since when did Humberside still exist?
Shouldn't you practise what you preach and stop cluttering and deflecting this thread from the intention of the OP?
Well he said on Humberside, not in it. So hes technically correct because he's saying we are on the banks of the Humber, which we are. As opposed to in it, which would suggest he was referencing the old county.

Ben Arfa and Ramirez wasn't even talked until about two hours before the deadline. They are usually a few left field deals on Deadline day.
There's a 106 pages of transfer information on this thread and we haven't signed anyone, so much of it relates to other clubs. It's deadline day and we're only going to sign one or two players, it makes sense to also keep track of the business others are doing.
No it doesn't. It makes sense to have one thread for City related transfer rumours/news and on thread for non-City transfer rumour/news. Still as a mod this is all about what you personally want rather than any rules you are supposed to enforce.
Normally we have a thread for City transfers and another for non-City transfer, but this window we haven't. That wasn't my decision, it wasn't a concious decision at all, it's just the way it's happened this window. I'm not going to spend the next two hours going through 106 pages to separate them now, so you'll just have to live with it.
