Maybe you should try and lighten up a bit eh? I've been on this board for years, it was tongue in cheek and I am sure the regulars will see the comment for what it was. Is this about the disagreement we had the other day? A bit childish aren't you...
Good to see the old boy`s going to be ok. Think the plod should be doing better though. They need to get the arsehole who did it. Might not be a bad idea if someone else gets there first mind.
A crime like this has hard drug user written all over it, the lowest form of society. If a reward of about £50 was put up for grabs, I'm in absolutely no doubt that somebody out of that circle would report him. £50 is 5 hits to a smack head.
Somebody somewhere must know who has done this and it is surely only a matter of time before he is caught..
It's not really as cut and dry as being able to weigh things up in your head though is it? It's more instinctive half the time, say if I saw a 'roid head with his hands on some bird, I wouldn't think 'oh this is a case for the boys in blue, where's my phone?', the instinct would be to immediately send the numb **** to sleep. People who's actions were to protect shouldn't be dealt with the same as somebody who's actions were to harm.
That's different though, in the heat of the moment, as opposed to gathering a rabble and coming out with torches and pitchforks.
Well yeah, I'd like to think I'm level headed enough to not get involved with that sort of thing, unless somebody has done something to a friend or family member, I doubt I'd pre-meditate an assault.
I have always agreed with the idea of "community" justice Smug Unfortunately, in addition to the tree huggers, imho, the general public have been dissuaded from taking the law into their own hands by the CPS adopting the stance that a crime is a crime and if the evidence is available they will prosecute, the local Bobby can't turn a blind eye now otherwise someone will complain and they will be investigated and most likely lose there job as a result, also more criminals are now going tooled up and recently quite a few people who have tried to intervene to prevent a crime have lost their lives as a result. Having said that, nothing would prevent me from stepping in to prevent a crime in progress, but the situation would dictate my actions.
I watched some fat slug and her kid going round Morrison's scoffing their faces off whilst loading up their trolley and putting the wrappers back on the shelves, when I asked her if she was gonna pay for the food she'd eaten she just said "Waitrose give you free coffee for shopping there". Oh well that's fine then, you grotesque vat of lard, carry on.
Oh so it's okay for you to be 'tongue in cheek'...on such a 'funny' thread?? You're more touchy than Jimmy Saville in his hey day!!
Let's stop arguing about this. Whoever smacked that poor owld feller deserves a yarking. Are we agreed on that?
Aye I know what you mean but would this have happened in those days - people seemed to have more respect for each other Agreed Billy - beginning to wish I had not brought it to peoples attention (I probably didn't word it very well to say the least) but there is no need for us to argue amongst ourselves
Spot on..This kind of incident has happened in the past as well and it is no worse now than it was 30 years ago..
