Hate's rather a strong word..I find the game lacks fluidity and lasts too long, that's all. Best bit is the crumpet,

Well that's it. Patriots have it.

    Thank **** I support a mediocre team.

I find it the best of the so-called "Big 4" to watch. Baseball is tedious, basketball is the worst IMO as it's just end to end to end. Hockey isn't bad to watch (it's terrible to spectate as the puck moves so quickly - might be better at some bigger venue where you can get more of a bird's-eye view) but it's basically boxing on ice.

Just don't like the arrogance and ongoing condescension of Upper Canada. Nothing personal against you ... I apologize for my aggression.

I guess Steve Bruce made a call for the Seahawks last play. Struck me as a bit off the wall.

I mostly agree with you on that. Baseball - dull, basketball - often as not the only bit worth watching is the last 1 or 2 minutes (college stuff is better than the pro level stuff), but football is too stop/start for me.
Hockey has deteriorated since the mass expansion of the pro leagues. I loved it when I first came here, even the fighting aspect, but the Maple Leafs haven't won anything in the 40 plus years I've been here, despite selling out for every game.
Each to his own I suppose.

No problem. Sorry that's the impression that is given by the lot out here. It has to be at the political level, it's certainly not held by the ordinary man in the street in my experience. Sadly, we can only vote for those that are available, or not at all.

I never liked the fighting aspect of hockey but loved the magic of the Habs when Lafleur, Cornoyer, Robinson and all were playing. Subsequently, the Oilers were pretty spectacular but as you say, it's too diluted now and I cannot be bothered except for the Olympics and World Juniors.

Well, perhaps we can establish an east/west relationship that bodes well for the future. By the way, I'm from West Hull, just off the Boulevard. Could you be from east Hull? That would be too ironic.

The Habs were a great team. I also loved watching the Sabres when the French Connection were in their prime, and the Flyers at their best with Bobby Clark. Haven't watched a game for almost 20 years - even on telly. Sad.

I cannot believe theSeahawks last play. Why throw when you are that close and you have one of the best ground games? It honestly struck me as something Steve Bruce would call. When you throw, three things can happen and two of them are bad. Oh well, I was hoping Jon would get another ring but I'm sure he'll get past it. Good night or good morning to all.

Hessle, or 'Essle as we used to say, for all my life except the first year (apparently) when my parents lived near East Park. My mother went to school down the Boulevard before the war, so she must have lived somewhere around there I suppose. Technically I must be from East Hull, although I was born in Hornsea where my gran lived.
So let's say we have an East/West accord. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Yeah, the Sabres were good but I never liked the Broad Street Bullies from Philly ... a bunch of Neanderthal thugs just like their counterparts from Leeds from about the same timeframe.
