Somebody saying on Twitter that Pearce's and Austin's transfers wouldn't have happened if Celino wasn't in charge

    Austin is going nowhere.

I'll put Chesh's reputation on it

You are confident. Cheshs reputation is 10 times more credible than yours.
It's being reported on sky as a done deal.

It wasn't long ago fans were up in arms that we had 2-3 loan signings, nobody bats an eyelid that it's now acceptable to sell 3 captains Warnock, Pearce and Austin and replace them with more loan signings. Can't be far from having more loan players than contracted ones, I guess it's okay because it is Cellino... Redfearn undermined yet again, was it yesterday he said not for sale and going nowhere.

Potentially it's called asset stripping before legging it back to Italy.

I feel Warnock had unfair criticism, I wasn't Pearces biggest fan or Austins but I can't understand selling them to teams that we are competing with and replacing them with more loans.

Yes I know loans are the only way we can bring players in but N'goyi unfit and injured, wouldn't mind betting he doesn't make an appearance this season and I was asked who I would get? Well I see Ince has joined Derby on loan....

Wigan are looking fecked to me, mcmanaman cash squandered on Pearce and headless chicken Rudy...
I think we look ok at the back, and if we include Bellusci we have plenty of midfielders as good if not better than Rudy.
Would imagine Rudy is on a fair whack?

On the face of it, it does seem poor transfer business. But if you have been following leeds then not really.

Warnock wanted a longer contract than we were prepared to give him (rightly or wrongly) and he was getting on a bit. To be honest this is the one I'm most sore about but its not a bad time to bed in Taylor there who seems to have been doing well and its also not the most critical position on the pitch.

Pearce, everyone wanted him to leave including you. Personally I did not see him as being as bad as the rest but then I haven't seen as many games as the rest on here. Not bothered with him leaving and we have better in the squad.

Austin was inconsistent to say the least. We have better defensive midfielders in the squad and better attacking ones as well if thats where you prefer to see him played. A bit strange because he has been in the first team but he really isn't that good and only 6 months left on his contract. A few months ago people would''ve been pretty happy with this deal.

I'm not that big a fan of the loans either but we are being sensible about it. You can argue they aren't of the quality we require but at least all of them have the option to buy at the end of the loan

I see your point Josh and admit to not realising Austin had just 6 months left. I wasn't Pearces biggest fan and I did say I would prefer Wootton to stay if one had to go but think you might be confusing me with someone else, I haven't seen enough of him to really knock his performances, I know a lot of fans will be over the moon to see him go.

If we stay up which is looking more likely than it did 3 games back then okay, we shall see but personally I wouldn't have been so quick to ship out experienced players just yet and replace with loans. I did fell N'goyi sounded the best out of those linked, never realised he was injured and nowhere near match fit.

Maybe I am mixing you up, what I will say is most wanted to see him go and I doubt he'd make anyone's first team these days.

And one point I will make is experience is only valuable to a team if it is teamed with some quality. Austin for me probably has the worst technical ability I have ever seen from a professional footballer. Being strong and pacey isn't enough although it can be handy to have off the bench sometimes.

I'm not altogether happy with the transfer business but looking at them all individually you can understand why they were done.

I think I see where Celino is coming from with the sale for Warnock, he's tried to complete the task he failed in the summer. Let's face it was kind of obvious Warnock was a dead man walk. Do I agree with no philosophy? No, I would have kept Warnock to the end of the season.

The thing that pisses me off about the Austin and Pearce sales isn't the fact we let them go to Wigan it's the fact that we've only got £800k when £1.5 million was being touted around a few day earlier. Pearce we've speculating was a gonna from the start of the window especially since Cooper was made captain so that doesn't surprise me. As for Austin at least we're getting some money for him. Been sick of seeing players like Beckford, Johnson and Naylor leave on frees after their contracts were up. If we're not going to renegotiate then let's get cash for them.

I think the term expect the unexpected should apply to Celino. He's going to do what ever he wants and tell Umbers to do his bidding. There will be a lot more things that won't make sense by the time Celino has finished with us.

I wouldn't be suprised if that £800k will be used to 'buy' Del Fabro and Benedicic next month as a loop hole with be found in the embargo

At least we are getting what paid for them, from memory Austin was 300k and Pearce 400k.
