I still can't wait for Brent to be sacked...

As long as I can have a joke about it or just plain say the exact opposite of what everyone else is saying I'm happy

Rodgers of course.... Can't wait for a real manager to come in....

    Now

9 points out of 12 with everton to come is our best run of season and it's 5 wins out of 6 in league now as well

All in all if we win the next 5 we can talk about cl again

However the good news is we are now close to europa football due in part to spuds/chav league cup final giving spot to 6th in league

I think 6th is in reach

  6. Quite happy with how this looks at the minute....

...shame we couldn't add a new face or two to help push us through the final stages of the season. Still in the FA Cup and EL won't help with the fixture list either, especially if we're aiming to catch the part-timers in third and fourth <whistle>

Southampon were broken today and will slowly fall away. I actually hope they don't collapse so they can take points off rivals, but the only game we need worry about is against us. If they do manage to pull themselves togther and keep in the chase to the end then fair play to them though.

Spurs will be the next to bottle it, the lucky ****s so far.

Man Utd have another month "in and around" the CL spots.

  8. I know its hardly going out on a limb but I've been saying all season that Saints will drop away in the new year and I still think they will despite having a excellent January (didn't drop a point).

Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs will all be hard to catch but I think it entirely depends on how long Studge can stay fit. He is the difference for us.

i'd much rather the table was reversed frankly.

but the reality is the points are quite low so i think real form is whats needed and we've had some lately. We will see in 5 games time where we are.

  10. Well obviously. I meant happy in perspective rather than us being in seventh <doh>

We were that **** at the start of the season that we have no right to be in with a shout really. However, we are in the discussion, hence me saying I'm happy with how it stands at the moment.

had this been last year we'd have been nowhere.

    1 Manchester City 23 17 2 4 68 26 11 0 0 42 8 6 2 4 26 18 +42 53
    2 Arsenal 23 16 4 3 45 21 8 2 1 20 6 8 2 2 25 15 +24 52
    3 Chelsea 23 15 5 3 43 20 10 2 0 25 9 5 3 3 18 11 +23 50
    4 Liverpool 23 14 4 5 57 28 10 1 1 33 8 4 3 4 24 20 +29 46
    5 Everton 24 12 9 3 37 25 8 3 1 23 10 4 6 2 14 15 +12 45
    6 Tottenham Hotspur 24 13 5 6 31 32 5 3 4 14 18 8 2 2 17 14 -1 44
    7 Manchester United 24 12 4 8 39 29 6 2 4 16 10 6 2 4 23 19 +10 40

its interesting to see that at the same point last year we would be 8th and 8 points off 4th.... in fact it is interesting to note that in fact if you look back to the block where we look a lousy 1 out of 12 points thats where we've fallen behind our own tally

a run off 11 wins from here would be of course most desirable but unlikely. it seems the teams who hit form now will take 3rd and 4th and it'll be interesting to see which get there

I don`t think this is true. You have not lost many lately and in fact share joint top form with United and City over the last ten games. Sturridge should improve your goal difference a fair bit but it is hard to see your points gathering improving much, what you need is to keep up the form of the last ten games and hope others fade <ok>

  13. Had this been last year we'd have been fourth and 46pts <doh>

  14. In the first half of the season we had an average of 1.3 or 1.4pts per game. We are now at 1.7pts per game (including that first half still). That's already an improvement and now Studge is back too.

Never said it would be easy, I said we are in a position I never expected us to be in following the shocking start we had and IF we can push on we still have a chance.

If we ignore our **** start and go on our last 11 games, we would average to 2.18 points per game. Continuing that gives us a 70 point season.

big ask that...... i'd like to think we can win enough to keep going and get up there but it'll require a lot of sturridge to drive us on.

bit of luck with injuries and all.

I know, what i was pointing out is that it would be hard to improve on your last ten games. You will get more goals but 21 out of 30 points is good going <ok>

    Super G Ted'inho likes this.
  18. I think we need to make sure we get good results against our rivals, that'll be the key foe us the season IMO

And in those 11 games the only decent sides you've faced are United and Arsenal and you took an average of 0.5 points per game from those fixtures

Let's see what you take from the next 4

  20. Fair enough but I was talking how the season as gone so far compared to what is left. We've struggled for goals all season, hopefully Studge returning can help us score the goals to put away the games we've been dominating <ok>
