Now that January is over its safe to hit the gym again as all the new years resolutioners will have dropped out. Those that didnt drop out fair play for sticking at it.

Heres a simple workout for anyone that wants to get fit but doesnt have time/ money for the gym.

All you need is your body and dumbells

    ● Goblet Squats 3×6 (10-20kg dumbell) 3secs down 2 secs hold 1sec up

    *60sec rest between each set

    ●Reverse Flyes 3×10 (2.5 - 5kg dumbells)
    Pushups 3×6
*do both then rest 60secs and go again

    ●Bridge 5×10secs
    Lunges 3×5 each leg
    * again do both then rest 30secs

    ●Pullover 3×10 (5-10kg dumbell)

    ● diagonal crunch 3× 20
    crunch 3× 20
    *both then 45sec rest

simple all body workout in the comfort of your own home.

If anyone does read this and decides to do it , do it 4 days a week every second day. Increase the weight on the dumbells each week too

    Good luck

Hashy mate, my gym was full of newbs today, think it's been delayed by a month this year.

Had some newbs in Jan too, quite a few have disappeared

Was doing 70kg barbell squats today, not much but I currently weigh 75kg... will try goblet squats though

Cycling is perhaps the best exercise for lean-ness and destroying body fat. Got to go up those hills though and smash it with decent heart rate. Is it a road bike or something else you have?? Will be cycling again when the weather starts to cheer up

Aiming to start lifting heavier in there very near future. Need to push the numbers up to get the gaiiiiiiiiiinz. I know, I could do more, probably 90-100kg, but I worry about my back (had issues last year) and it wouldn't be as many reps. I'm not looking to get big, just to stay lean and agile, wouldn't mind a bit more muscle mass though, but also need to get a bit leaner

Currently play football twice a week but other than that don't do too much. Do a mini work out of sit ups//press ups just to keep things ticking over but planning on starting to do proper running.

Always wanted to get up 45 mins early and do a 30 min run each morning before work but never have the motivation once I wake up... especially during the winter!

  13. I eat big regardless <laugh>

5' 9" and 12st 6lb. Play football three times a week and chase three kids about when at home, don't need to train :)

Same but I've never been a morning person. I like running. Training for a 10K in spring and a half marathon at the end of summer.

That's a lot of cardio. Depends what you're looking for. Cardio will keep you in decent shape and your heart healthy, but you'll not necessarily be muscular. Can also burn muscle if you don't eat properly. But you don't want to be big if you want to run fast.

I don't want to get big.. wouldn't suit me as I'm only about 5'9 and never been huge.

Just want to get into running to improve the stamina, helpful for football it's obviously the best way to get rid of the stomach in order to get a bit of a toned stomach <ok>

I'm 75kg about 11.5 st and heavier now since working out as I built muscle mass.

Sounds good. Used to have an MTB with roadie wheels too. Just have the road bike now. Cycling and swimming are easiest sports on the body/joints - very low impact but very high calorie burn. Excellent choices. I don't really like swimming though
