If Leeds united were in the Premiership none of these problems would count. On law for everyone except the Premiership.

    I blame the teachers :)

The Grammarist : "Here, here is widely regarded as a misspelling, although it is a common one, and there are ways to logically justify its use. But for what it’s worth, hear, hear is the original form"

    Is this the right thread?

Tough league this Championship - I wonder if the Pozzos have finally realised this. Look at this midweek's results Leeds beating Bournemouth, Brighton beating Ipswich. You would have put money on both those results being reversed. There is not one club being consistent at the top currently, with the possible exception of Boro who have lost only 1 in the last 10. All others have lost at least 2.

Put together a half decent run of results during Feb & March and we're right back in the auto mix.

We are already in the mix. We still have to play all the teams above us so automatic promotion is in our own hands.

We certainly are in the mix - we have at the moment one more point than we had from 26 games under GFZ two years ago

I suggest the issue is one of consistency. 2 years ago we were on a run of 6 wins in the last 10 games with only 2 defeats (interestingly enough both at home). We then went on to win 6 out of the next 10, again with only 2 defeats (one at home).

If we can match that sort of form then I will agree we are in the mix for automatic promotion - at the moment we are not. We are looking likely to finish at best 5th or 6th even allowing for our promotion rivals also hiccuping along the way.

there will be teams that end with a good run and for us to get into in the top 2 we must be one of them

Agreed, and there mustn't be too many more teams ending with good runs.......

We certainly have to stop the "win one, lose one" pattern.
Two years ago we finished with 4 wins, 4 defeats and 2 draws. That is what cost us.
Essentially we need to divide the matches into "blocks" as the masterful GT used to do - aiming for a certain points target in each block. We have 20 games left - if in each block of 5 we were to win 3, draw 1 and lose 1 we would get 10 points per block. Four of these would give us 40 points and a total of 84 points which would be in or around automatic. Another way to put it is that we need to average 2 points per game - not easy but achievable.

All the candidates for the FIFA presidents election have to pass anti-corruption tests. One candidate has already paid his way through.

Stuart Pearce is the latest manager to be removed. Maybe not such a huge surprise.

"Millwall assistant manager Marc Bircham has left the club for a post with Major League Soccer side Chicago Fire.

"This was a very hard decision to make because I really feel there are good times ahead for Millwall," the 36-year-old said.

First-team coach Nigel Gibbs is set to become Ian Holloway's new number two."

If this was mooted at the time, maybe this is a reason why NG decided to go there - potential of being a number two!

Given Millwall's results lately, he could soon be number one

Not surprised Pearce went but Dougie Freeman is hardly an inspiring choice which is good news for us.
